Thanks!! I’m applying from the US so I don’t have GCSE grades. But for reference I applied with 555 achieved in AP psychology, world history, macroeconomics, and 555 predicted in calc bc, microeconomics, environmental science. I think that’s equivalent to A*A*A* if not four A*? I sent my application off on Oct.13

Thank you. I applied on the same day too and am waiting to hear. I have read somewhere that 60% of PPE intake at Warwick is international students. I’m a home student and am really hoping they offer me a place.

Yeah I just saw on their website that 40% are home and 60% are EU and overseas. Best of luck to you!

The majority of students being international is probably one of the key contributors to funding and providing all the fab facilities on campus. When I visited Warwick campus, it did immediately become obvious it’s so modern and consistently being refurbished and rebuilding going on.

Just got a rejection for Comp Sci with A* Maths, and predicted 3A*: Further maths, Physics, Comp Sci. My GCSEs weren't great due to poor work ethic during pandemic (avg 7-8 with all being at least 6) so I'm assuming that was the reason. I'm surprised to say the least

Wow that’s super harsh but thankfully they let you know now and not in May. With those predicteds you’ll definitely get some fab offers

Cheers, I've got an offer from Manchester (which ironically has higher required grades) so I'm not that fussed, just taken aback. You got an offer yet?

Well thats a bit worrying for me. I am predicted three A*'s in maths, phisycs and Comp Sci with my GCSE's being mostly 8's with 3 9's and a 6 and a 7. May I ask what extra curricular you did as I applied on the 13th but so far all I've heard back is an acknowledgment email and I haven't been rejected or accepted yet.

as long as your gcses are within the requirements, I doubt they give it much thought. I think it really has nothing to do with your grades, just the huge amount of applicants, and also the huge element of luck. You should email and see why they rejected you, as they do give out personal feedback.

If by extra curricular you mean comp sci related, I've done projecteuler.net question, an online course on machine learning, and general programming over the past few years. Your GCSEs are quite a lot better than mine, and I know someone who got an offer a couple of weeks ago who has the same predicteds as me, but with better GCSEs, so it feels like they aren't looking to gamble on inconsistent students. I wouldn't stress about it as most unis don't seem to care too much about a 4th A Level

With the universities I applied for the ones a part from Warwick that don't really care for that 4th A level Ive got an offer for as I've received offers for Edinburgh and Bristol but I also applied to Imperial college and Oxford where that 4th A level of Further maths is a big help. Oxford has it where 95% of candidates that are short listed have further maths so my chances are slim but I wanted to test the odds.
