Are you applying to 5 different universities?

If you’re rejected by your top choice will you apply elsewhere (either by adding additional choices, using Ucas Extra or Clearing?)

should I specifically mention the university I want to attend in my personal statement and state I want to go there?

No. I was advised against even naming any universities when writing my PS.

I'd have to go to the insurance choice I choose, so my additional choices

No. Why would you do that? Other universities will read the same personal statement and it won’t look very good if you’ve mentioned the name of another university.

So if you are applying to more than one uni then don’t mention a specific one in your PS as could tick off the others. Good luck.

I would 100% avoid making my application specific towards a certain university by mentioning it, it can make your application very insincere towards other unis you've applied to and give them a bad impression.

Hi @yupmay3

From when i did my personal statement I was advised not to mention any universities you specifically want to go to. Remember you only get one personal statement and that's going to be sent to all of the choices you apply for. Defiantly try and avoid mentioning one!
