Academic misconduct in third year- master's degree

In my third year, I made some mistakes. I got a 2.2 overall in my degree in English and the academic misconduct was just not accurately citing sources. This happened twice, and was a very stupid mistake to make and I am lucky that I still graduated with BA honours but I am wondering if this would affect my application for any other university if they see academic misconduct on my transcript twice? Would I even be admitted into another university?

Yes, it will be an issue I am afraid, particularly as it sounds like a double strike.

So do you think I would be admitted into any university for a master's degree? I am just wanting to apply for September 2023.

It would definitely be of concern. It's the kind of thing that would get referred to a selection committee, or senior member of staff, to make a judgement call on.

My gut feeling is that the higher ranked/more prestigious institutions are going to be less likely to overlook it. But mid-ranked places might just be satisfied with your module and overall results.

Unfortunately there's no definitive answer to this, as it's the kind of thing they may ask you for further info about, and then make a case by case decision on.

It's going to depend on their course demand and quality control, a 2.2 with a couple of misconduct black marks mean most higher ranked institutions will likely say no.

Thanks for that information, I'm currently looking at UX design courses since that is a field I would like to go into.
