I sat my numerical and verbal on the 26th Oct and just heard back today with a video interview invite. From what I can tell no news for about a week tends to be good news (judging from the response to my SJT and these N&V tests).

Oh I see, when is your video interview? Is that the one you do on your own and is timed? What opening did you apply for?

I applied for HSE & Carbon. From what I can tell in the email, it's completely automated and the questions they ask are pre-recorded - not sure if timed or not but there's an 'estimated duration' of 20 mins. Its done over HireVue and they've asked me to do it within the next 3-5 days. They give you the option to do some practice questions using the system to get familiar with it so its a lot less daunting than it seems.

Which opening have you applied for?

I applied for People and Culture. Did you find the 2 tests hard? The time limit definitely made it seem more difficult. After the HireVue interview I think it's a Technical one then Assessment Centre but it probably depends on the area you are applying for.

As far as I know I think the application process is the same. I think the tests were quite difficult, the SJT was really subjective imo but not having a time limit was great. N&V was a lot more challenging because of the time limit but the questions themselves weren't that difficult, it was just trying to figure out what the question was actually wanting me to do that I struggled with because I'm an environmental science student without a business studies background (for the numerical part)

Yeah, I'm not great at Maths IMO, but found it easier numerical rather than verbal. I found the text to be quite large for that part, and in some cases the questions were not necessarily obvious especially with the strict time limit. I had a passage on Biology I think (odd one really) and generally was quite tough to pick out the key points from. I found the SJT was ok, some of the answers you could have judged in various ways, but just thought of the answer by referring to BPs core values. Overall, I think I probably did enough to pay those 2 tests and worried more about the interviews further down the line.

Sorry to hear that, it was very difficult especially with the time restrictions. I think 3 minutes per 4 questions is way too less.

Yeah I’m very disappointed in my self, hate to say it but it had me in tears like my dream is over :frown:

Feel very crushed indeed

I think the reason I got rejected was I got timed out in one section, read that on another forum. Can I reapply next year?

Hey yes ofcourse there literally no issue with applying for the next year intake  For reference, the firm I'm currently working for rejected me when I applied for a summer internship but then offered me a grad role when I applied the year after. Are you a grad or still at uni? Either way, next year you'll be able to apply again with no issues

I’m in last year of Uni. Won’t they remember I applied last session? What can I do to increase my chances?

Oh not at all, the fact you were unsuccessful this year will have no impact on your application next year. They get so many people applying and no one will keep track that you applied a year back.

Which scheme is that? I've applied for Customer & Products (commercial) scheme. I'm not sure if we have a technical interview before the assessment centre or not.
