Can I study English lit at uni if I did English language at A Level?

Would I be able to get to grips with the subject? Anyone else done/doing an English lit degree having not done it at A level?
It seems that most universities would want you to have taken english literature or english language & literature, but there are some that would accept just english language or ucas tariff points:

these are just a couple so I imagine there are more

Thanks for the reply and the links. There’s a few unis I’ve looked at which will accept either lit or language. I was just hoping to find out whether it it would be too difficult to try and do lit at degree level without the A level experience
