Hi! Would it be okay to get the PowerPoint too?! Thanks!

Hi again Pattiemap! Looks like you’ve had more than a few requests for the PowerPoint…wondering if it would be easier to post a comment with it as an attachment?! Don’t know if that’s possible or allowed, but would be great if you could! 😊

Hi guys. For the SIP, do u guys know/heard of cases where full-time contracts were given if the intern impressed during their time at the Civil Service? I got through to the extra info part of the SIP and I will have to pass the phone interview stage as well.

I'm just curious cos if I impress during my 3 months as an intern at the Civil Service, surely they can't just end it there.. like I should be offered a long-term contract

I mean they could ‘just end it there’, nothing is guaranteed or just ‘given’, especially in the Civil Service… there is no ‘should’ or entitlement to anything.

You would likely have to reapply for your role on a permanent basis CSJ, if the work you have been doing as part of the programme is even a standalone role rather than just designed for that. If there was a permanent role advertised that was basically the same as you had been doing, you would also be competing with other applicants who may be better qualified or have more professional experience, or simply know what to say on the application better.

Even if Fixed Term roles become permanent in the Civil Service, in most cases the holders of the FTC have to reapply for the job they have been doing for 1-2 years and often miss out to new applicants. Open and fair competition is a pillar of the recruitment.

Hi, really kind of you to distribute the presentation. Am I able to get a copy please? It wouldn’t let me message you, but if you send me a message with your email then I’ll email you so that you can respond.
Thanks in advance!

As far i am aware its a fast pass or just will provide you with work experience if you do decide to apply for jobs in the civil service.
if you perform well theyll offer you a fast pass. "Access to ‘Fast Pass’ for those from a diverse background, which potentially allows you to be fast-tracked to the final stages of the Fast Stream selection process. A minimum of 6 weeks is required in your placement in order to be considered for a ‘Fast Pass’."
I have read people have already started getting invited to the AC. I haven’t received anything to confirm or deny it. Does that mean I haven’t been invited?

Hi, I believe that they will be doing it in batches. You will be notified whether you are successful or unsuccessful. I believe the assessment centres are running until March, and you usually get about 2 weeks notice.
Has anyone here heard back about their AC results yet? Just completed mine today and wondering how long people have had to wait/been waiting for feedback/results.

How was the AC. what was the format?

Enjoyable but challenging - format as described in the FSAC guide, we went written, leadership then group exercise. Breaks are quite short (5-10mins) between exercises. Very time pressured!
Hi, just a query for anyone from previous years who might have answers.
I did Assessment Centre for all four of my schemes (HoP, Generalist, Project Delivery and Commercial in that order). However, if you get through to FSB for say HoP or Project Delivery and you fall at the last hurdle, will you be considered for the other schemes you did AC for or not?
This is entirely hypothetical but weirdly enough it is what stresses me out most if that makes sense, like I realistically just want to make it onto any of the schemes if I can!

So how much notice were you given for the AC date they offered you. I see you have one in March- is that the one they originally offered or did you ask for a different date?

On 23/01 I was offered an AC on 10/02, so 18 days notice. I’ve asked to rearrange it and yesterday they offered me 03/03. I’ve asked for a longer wait as I’ve got a surgery to get over between now and then, and they were accommodating. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Have you been invited to a phone interview?

You would be as long as you passed for those schemes as well. If you pass for them but fail the FSB for HoP then you’ll still get onto Generalist since it’s your 2nd choice.

I believe that if you fail an FSBs for your first choice, your AC score will go into the pool with everyone else who is being considered for your next chosen scheme. Even if that scheme doesn’t have its own FSB, whether you will get offered a place on it will depend on how your score compares to everyone else applying for it.
