Anyone know how fast track applications work when you've done an internship prior?

Do they offer this? If so, get in contact with their graduate recruitment team and let them know you're interested. I assume your name would still be on their system.

Depends what you compare it to, compare to BB/MM banks the salaries are below par.

Financial services pay a premium because there product is essentially human capital and it’s an investment in talent. They want high capacity highly motivated hard workers.

below par? What do BB/MM banks offer graduates?

Depends on role (this has a big impact) but absolute peak some offer front office with the bonus included is now into6-figures.

Their are also some prop trading firms who pay 6-figure base & include a further bonus, although they are extremely hard to break into (typically Oxbridge PhD maths or similar)

Crazy! Interesting to know, thank you. Since LBG don't have an investment banking arm, I think their salaries are still quite good for the roles they have.

I think some of the products are on paper similar but how you manage the clients is very different & particularly where the source capital comes from.

Dont't know if there is any fast track applications but when you apply normally they do ask if you have worked with them before, if yes they then ask you for your LBG work email and the manager you worked under.

There's definitely fast track as they explained this to me during the internship offer call but was just wondering if anyone had actually used this method to apply just yet

Yeah for sure. Just wondering if anyone on this forum had actually got a role through this method

Sorry was talking about Data Science in particular to be fair. Biggest starting salary I've seen so far.

That's insane, must be ridiculously hard to break into and the work life balance must be tough also I guess

Asset management roles are probably 50 hours a week, trading is similar. If you work on deals you can expect 80-90 hour weeks your first couple years, but most people who are successful in the application process aren’t daunted by hard work and have genuine desire to work on big commercial deals.

yes it’s hard to break in, but generally if you push yourself to be successful continuously, do the research, and keep grafting - you’ll carry the skills & mentality into whatever career you end up landing you’ll probably achieve a LOT.

They haven't elaborated just yet and said they will explain more on the internship later this year. Was just trying to find out ahead of time from any previous interns

Fair play, definitely get rewarded for their hard work and tremendous work ethic. I'm content on £45,000 + doing 40 hours a week though. Work life balance is vital for me

If you’ve done an internship, it might be worth emailing recruitment and asking them about this potential fast tracking. Unless you already have an AC?

Mate I did an iternship in 2021 and did not get a return offer despite having wonderful feedback, anyways since i had interned I was not allowed to apply in 2021-2022 graduate application cycle. I applied this time for business and commercial banking and haven't received an AC till now which is more or less curtains for me. So you can judge for yourself ..........yes there can be a case that i was an exceptionally bad intern or I am an international student they dont want to hire......Or maybe they changed rules now. But anyways best of luck for internship it is a lovely place to work and enjoyed my work there, had a great boss and boss's boss. Good people around.

It was in the application process, nothing about the fast track process of hiring but a fast track process of filling up the form. I just answered yes to the question if I worked there and then had to give them my work email that they gave me during the internship and my Line manager's name, after that did not have to fill up anything else just uploaded the CV. So yes it was convenient in filling up the form

Yes it’s a very nice balance and excellent salary straight out of university.

Id say to work a 70-80-90 hour work week you really have to enjoy what you are part of & thrive in the culture. It has to be more then a job as you don’t get time off. But if you really get excited about the nature of the work and don’t mind sacrificing other hobbies for the projects it’s worth pursuing.
