    I hope I'm not the only one suffering from these annoyances.

    When ever I quote someone and click the box to start typing it will always begin typing at the start of the quote and not the end despite clicking at the end. Have to refresh the page to get it working normally.

    Second problem is when I click "go to new post" for a particular thread it will always put the new post right at the bottom of the screen (you can only see the blue bar across the top of the post) whereas before it used to be right at the top so you didn't have to scroll to read it. I'll get a screenshot when a suitable thread appears in my CP.

    Edit: Pic of problem 2 ..

    Anyone else having these problems or no how to fix them? I had FF3 when it came out and it drove me mad so went back to 2. Just upgraded again recently thinking it would have been fixed but no such luck.

    Yeah I have exactly the same problem when going to a specific post, it puts it at the bottom of the page, and it started happening when I started using FF3. Maybe there is some greasemonkey hack if it is common to all VB forums? If I find one/make one i'll let you know.

    That would be good, thanks

    Have you tried to run Firefox in Safe Mode?

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_%28Firefox%29

    Then try post and see if you have any problems.

    This only fixes TSR putting the post you want at the bottom, I don't think I've experienced the other bug that Cortez has.

    Here we go, it works for me, I accept no liability if this completely messes your firefox up. :p:

    Code:
    // ==UserScript==
    // @name TSR first unread post
    // @namespace      http://www.donthaveone.co.uk
    // @include        http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/*
    // @include        http://*www.thestudentroom.co.uk/*
    // ==/UserScript==
    // Made by Creole

    function urlSwitch() {
    	var url = location.href;
    	var urlLength = url.length;

    	var post = "#post";
    	var edit = "#edit";

    	var postBeginLocation = url.indexOf(post);
    	var editBeginLocation = url.indexOf(edit);

    	if ( postBeginLocation != "-1") {
    		var postId = url.substr(postBeginLocation+5,urlLength);

    		var newUrl = url.substr(0,postBeginLocation)+edit+postId;

    		window.location.href = newUrl;
    	}

    	if ( editBeginLocation != "-1") {
    		window.location.href = url;
    	}
    }

    window.addEventListener('load',
    	function() {
    		setTimeout(urlSwitch(),1);
    	},
    	false);
    As I said it's very hacky, basically it waits a millisecond after TSR finishes loading, and then points it to where it should be (that's why you see a quick flash, it redirects). This may not work if there is an image that won't load or if youtube videos are on the page, but I can't be bothered with that at the moment. I might update it tomorrow.

    Edit: Obviously the code is to be used with the greasemonkey firefox addon and is a .js but I can't upload that so you'll have to do it manually.

    Nope, I use Firefox 3.0.4 and I'm apart of plenty of vB forums and none of them do this..

    Odd..

    Very. I have 3.0.4 as well.

    I really have no idea what it could be. I've just turned off my ad blocker and that hasn't made any difference either.

    Yup, this happened to me from the moment I updated to Firefox 3...

    Thanks for the script Creole, if it's not too hacky I'll give you some rep for it.

    Awesome, I can work with that much more easily. Cheers. (I've made a thread in About TSR btw, because people will love this and it needs more exposure.)
