Has anyone here ended up with the job? If so how is it in terms of travel thinking of applying but not sure the constant relocation is for me
Please any hint as to how to pass Newton's numerical and data interpretation tasks (online assessment)?

Hi, I have been invited to the Newton Europe selection day next week. Do you have any advice? Do you know what kind of questions you get for the Newton Methodology and group case studies?
hi, how did this go, just got an invite also , i have few questions

1. since it is virtual, is access to the internet allowed ?
2. how was the group case study , what do you need to do to stand out ?

3. the numerical part , how similar to the online assessment

1. Yes you need the internet, but you won't have time to use it. It's quite compact the whole process. And there's no point in googling.
2. The case study was hard, lots of info and not enough time. Keep calm and try to solve it. Don't try to take the lead if you don't know how to do it, be sensible. Help out and be useful. If you're useful and not directing the whole team in the wrong direction you should be fine.
3. Similar but significantly harder, do some prep on mental math and probabilities. Skip the question if you have trouble doing it when you first see it.

Thanks for the heads up

I need to prepare harder for the numerical part then .

My selection day is exactly a week from today

Just out of interest, what's your academic background like? I'm hoping to apply for a grad role this time next year. Thanks

I have a background in Engineering. I feel the role is not based on any background but just try to be good with numbers

Good luck! I did it last week and am waiting to hear back. It was quite fun, hope you get through!

Hey, I don't have dm lols cause TSR hasn't approved yet. But yh it was my first AC, too. Quite daunting, but less so when you begin. You got this! Thanks for the well wishes. Really nervous about the results, too! Fingers crossed for both of us and anyone applying
Im doing the assesment centre right now, and honestly i think ive messed up the numerical test. I did really well on the case study i think but the numerical one was wayyyy harder and the time pressure got to me for sure. Hopefully it like balances out or smth tho :s-smilie:
If anyone else is doing it or has done it and can let me know if the numerical test matters it will be greatly appreciated. Im on the break rn and my minds racing!!!!

Thanks! They just said they would tell me whether I have made it to the final round within the next week. Although I don't think I will. I really messed up the afternoon session:frown:

Hey,
Hi,
How much harder was the numerical? apparently probability qs etc. was there a lot of data? worldy problems?
Was the group case study hard? did you use MECE framework? was it very mathematical or more consulting?
the individual case study- Was it like a comprehension? easy or hard?
the mini case, was that thinking on the spot when the assessor is speaking to you or do you get time away to think?

Hope you can help me out!

didnt get offer i got my feedback, i was 1 mark off the numerical requirement great everywhere else. my advice is to study stats for numerical and make sure u can clear ur answers. my portal wouldnt let me change my answer and i panicked adn just moved onto others BUT PLEASE TEXT UR LIASON SO THEY CAN HELP U DURING THE TEST. they cant recitfy after only during!
Study lots of like gcse and a level statistic stuff it was all stats mostly and a few profit stuff.
its negatively marked btw
the group stuff is easy but tbh i find most group stuff and case study stuff easy.
out of the 15 people who were in my ac only 3 made it to the afternoon
dont feel disheartened btw, all the people who made it to the afternoon said this was their 2nd or 3rd time applying.

The numerical was just a lot of words and bigger numbers. Wasn't intrinsically harder maths, just more data. Wordy problems for sure. The group case study was the same, with lots of different pieces of information to gather. Be sure to listen and note down what your teammates say, the accessor is very helpful and will help you, but pay attention. Mathematical, less consulting.
Individual case was very simple, just follow the instructions.
Mini case study was mathematical, too. After which you have to give advice, I have a hard time being holistic with that type of question but the accessor was very helpful, too. It wasn't too difficult, pretty straightforward. You get time to think
