application

hi I've applied to three medicine unis and am going to apply to two pharmacy unis as well. but idk if I should do another personal statement. I rang Birmingham in October to ask whether they accept another personal statement- they said yes and that they would give me an email to send it to. but I recently emailed them to confirm and they said that they only accept personal statements off of ucas. does anyone know what unis accept a second personal statement?
please could you help me

Hi there,
A lot of the allied health courses e.g. Pharmacy are aware that students will also be applying for medicine and that, given how competitive medicine is, their personal statements will be geared towards medicine. From my understanding, they will still fully consider you as an applicant and won't penalise you for this. It's definitely worth reaching out to them to check but this is a fairly common sentiment I've heard over the years!

I hope this helps! Have you heard back from any of your medical applications?

I cannot say as it would be specific for individual courses. However, i do know people who applied via early entry who put a fifth not med course down and have been asked for a second PS (but not for the type of courses you are referring to).

But they applied via UCAS, their med PS was sent to them, and then they were asked for another one.

Not applied for 2 and then looking to do two further before the jan entry.

Ucas may be able to advise.

Is it that Birmingham misunderstood, because you need tp apply via UCAS and poss give them a separate PS afterwards. It sounds as thoigh they were talking about the application being via UCAS?

Good luck.
