Does anyone else hate Christmas?

There are some things I like about it, such as the lights, decorations, spending time with family etc, but I hate the ultra-capitalist, consumerist, money-making scam it's become. The constant adverts to buy, buy, buy really wind me up and I find it sad how many people get so greedy over gifts and the way they react when they don't get what they want. People who spend hundreds/thousands just to make multi-millionaire/billionaire big businessmen even richer aren't very bright in my opinion. I also don't like how millions of turkeys are killed so people can stuff themselves silly either, and I felt like that even before I became a vegetarian. Plus the same few songs being played over and over again drives me insane. It really is all quite vulgar as far as I'm concerned.

Get back to what Christmas is really about - there is no commercialism in the original 'reason for the season' ...

For me it;'s an excuse to see everyone. All the lads are back in one place for the only time in the year, the family make extra efforts etc. As you get older and people start to die etc, you realise what's really important about these festivals.
There’s a lot about Christmas I don’t like, the music is dire and I hate how people can feel pressured to spend money they don’t have on presents. Or how some people don’t get any presents or feel extra lonely at this time of year. On a personal level, I don’t enjoy being trapped at the in - laws because no where much is open 🥴 So I can definitely empathise with people who don’t like Christmas although I do like certain aspects of it, such as seeing friends and having a top notch dinner with all the trimmings.
I love Christmas but it can b sad as well ya know

i don't hate it, but i don't feel happy when it's christmas anymore. it just feels like any other day now.

same with new years now that i think about it
The Grinch does.
I like feeling the festive spirit. I like feeling closer to God. It can also be sad and emotionally draining!

I don't like how its meaning becomes completely rejected, ignored and capitalised on. Agree w you.
yeah lmao there's so many family members judging you on everything and so much food and so many expectations and social occasions and ofc all the reasons op stated but did i mention that there is also your family judging you ON THE FOOD its always either too much or too little and "you're getting too skinny" or "you should be careful, you'll get pudgy" like bestie just shut up it is in no way your place to comment on other peoples body and habits?? and old men at family gatherings making creepy ass comments and touching you everywhere. and one of your parents being able to watch you practically every second of the day with 20x the number of opportunities to make you feel like ****, while you're reminded that the other one is hundreds of kilometres away and you cant spend this traditionally family-oriented holiday with them because of the divorce. maybe i don't hate Christmas and i just have family issues LMAO
also Halloween>>>>Christmas in absolutely every way I'm sorry i don't make the rules

I don't dislike Christmas and actually like it but I can agree with some of this.
You call it Christmas? thanks to our people's spreading of tolerance and diversity we no longer call it Christmas but instead Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings
I don't like the consumerism of it and hearing constant Christmas songs gets grating on the work radio.
I booked a premier Inn for me and my parent and we just take a few gifts, some food and decorations and make our own meaning of it.
I mean I'm Jewish but not rlly tho-
Yh there’s something I’ve always really disliked about it. But I think it’s more to do with other events around the last week of the year that coincide as opposed to Christmas itself.

Yeah I think that Christmas has become too commercialised

What other events?

Hate is a too bad word to choice. Sometimes Christmas is a pain in my ass for different reasons.

My parents are gone my siblings & I all live in different states my children are all grown and out of the house so I don't see the point of celebrating Christmas ! Just say a prayer have dinner & go to sleep !
