Question for anyone who has had an implant or bridge

I need to get either a dental implant or bridge next year. I don’t trust my current dentist to do it. I was going to go abroad to Turkey but I’ve decided I will stay in the UK. Can anyone recommend a dentist they have used for such procedures with a reasonable price. I’m willing to travel across the country.

Depending on your age - if your below 18 you can get a free bridge on the NHS or at dentists i think. I had a temporary one when i was 15 and its stayed strong for 3 years so far. Will get implants on the NHS but they are 2k per tooth so expensive. I personally used my personal dentist for the bridge and i had no problem. A lot of private dentists do Implants and reviews will also allow you to decide weather you trust them or not. Hope this helps

Thanks. That’s helpful. Is your bridge at the front?

I’m over 18 so I pay as an adult. My dentist is private.
I have a bridge. 15 years it's been in my mouth so far (touch wood it stays put!)
It's to replace my top front left tooth which was knocked out.
It was done at High Ash Dental Surgery in Leeds. I had it done for free as I had maternity exemption at the time.
Hope that helps.

Thank you. That’s really helpful indeed. I was told some bridges aren’t as durable. Do you know what type of bridge it was? Any chance it was Maryland?

Possibly. That rings a bell, but I can't be 100% sure, it was a really long time ago!
I'm just looking at some photos now of a Maryland bridge. I don't think it's that one, as that's showing the fake tooth being attached at the back to both of the teeth on either side of the gap.

Mine is just attached to the back of the adjacent front tooth, so it's only attached on one side.

EDITED:
Just seen it can be attached with just one wing.
I've just been doing my research.

Yes then, I have a Maryland bridge, attached with one wing.

OP, did you get your implants? I'm also facing a similar circumstance.
