Which CS Degree Apprenticeships offer Russell Group University 2023

I am an A* Student in: Maths, Computer Science and Business Studies. I am currently on a gap year but want to go on a degree apprenticeship in 2023. But all the companies I see offering the degree send you to terrible Universities that I wouldn’t want to go.

I keep hearing that there are Russell Group University accepting degree apprenticeships but can’t find a company that offers one.

I want to study computer science - mainly
focused on software engineering. I have worked so hard but I can’t find a degree apprenticeship in computer science that offers a good University :frown:.

Please may someone add any links or direct me to a good company that will send you to a Russell Group University. I live in the north west of England so any in the University of Manchester would be perfect. But if not anywhere would be appreciated.
Thanks to anyone who responds - have a good day .

There is university of birmingham and queen mary university london that offer degree apprenticeships in digital and technology solutions I believe but you can specialised in computer science/software engineering I think.

Warwick University also do degree apprenticeships in computer science and technology solutions and the employers they work with include Jaguar land rover.

Make sure you actively check the find a apprenticeship site and indeed, smaller companies that are advertising vacancies for degree apprenticeships tend to advertise the vacancy and close it shortly after (like a couple of weeks or a month after) with start dates like a month or 2 after the closing dates. These vacancies tend to take on a small number of students like max 5 unlike the larger apprenticeships such as KPMG or PWC that take on many apprentices.

Best of luck
Degree apprenticeships are highly competitive.

So whilst you should apply to these at unis that are high ranking, you should also apply to lower ranked universities as well. Because the value of the degree apprenticeship is not the university you studied with but rather the experience you gained from working.

Once you have your degree and experience, almost zero employers will care which university you went to.
