Hello, I need help answering this question on the physics of estuaries. I don't understand the meaning of each term and how I should apply them to estuaries.

if dense water and more buoyant water are placed next to one another, the dense water spreads under the buoyant water. The
movement of the buoyant water across the dense water causes
friction. An example is in estuaries, where freshwater spreads over
seawater.

Explain the spread of dense water under buoyant water in an estuary in terms of:
-hydrostatic approximation
-the vertical pressure gradient
-horizontal pressure gradient force.
-Explain the subsequent frictional force arising from the horizontal movement of the buoyant water and dense water
-using the concepts=
-shear rate in the velocity
-shear stress
-viscosity.
What are the major sources of friction?
