A thought that occured earlier but given their downforce and tyre woes. Have Ferrari considered the failure may be in their data/modelling division rather than actually coming up with bad ideas.

Its a possibility - it could explain the cause for strategy issues as well. Apparently they ditched their tyre modeling division ages ago and rb and merc are the only ones who still have one (the RB tyre guy in fact was the guy on the podium last time around).
Its widely acknowledge ferrari have nabbed mercedes head of chassis / mechanical stuff and are in advanced talks with red bull's main designer but the merc guy can't start till 2025 / no idea re the red bull guy but it kinda explains why leclerc say rb will dominate till the end of current tech regulations.

Leclerc has floor damage per ferrari, which is why he was slow

Gasly pits from p3

Reply 3987

Poor stop for alonso, he is now behind sainz and yuki

Reply 3988

Max rejoins less than 6s ahead of chrco

Reply 3989

Alonso back in p3

Reply 3990

Not sure why Alpine were complaining they have an engine deficiency and need rule changes. Seems as good as a Ferrari on the straights.

Reply 3991

How did Russell save himself from causing a merc double dnf

Reply 3992

Rain is back and worse than the start.

Gasly up to p4

Reply 3993

Checo pits for inters

Reply 3994

As does sainz and gasly.

RB did a Ferrari with checo ie no tyres ready

That would explain a lot and suggests that to genuinely win a championship you may need better modelling than you can buy externally.

Perez in got inters. Perhaps too early.

Ocon going full wets possibly

Reply 3997

Yep ocon full wets

Reply 3998

Checo off the road t1 and alonso p2.

Ocon criticising alpine but it's a genius call by them

Reply 3999

Perez was correct. Appears (maybe the banking) that Zandvort requires inters for the slightest rain.

Ocon full wet, watch the lap time. Starts 56s behind Max.

Perez slides, Ocon may be gold.
