If this is the one I think it is - I applied had to do the BBA game thingy AND the written test. I had confirmation today my extra time request at interview was approved and they will be notifying people of the first interview slots this week. Safe to say I think I got an interview

Hi! May I ask what did the written test consist of? It’s very vague on the website.

I did my online assessment yesterday, and i don't think i did to great as some of the questions i did mumble and went off track for some of the questions. i applied for the Heathrow border force and my online assessment were with 2 interview people. I am hoping for the best as interview may not be my strongest point.

Hi all I’ve recently been offered a position and going through employment checks for the Border Force Officer. Can someone’s tell me whether this includes an apprenticeship as part of the job or not? I understand that there were apprenticeship job roles, however from my understanding the job role I’ve applied for is a non-apprenticeship right?

Please can someone shed more light on this for me. I’m asking as I do not have maths, afraid of doing maths as part of the apprenticeship (in case if it’s an apprenticeship job role that is, although I’m hoping it isn’t!)

What what location and when is your start date?

Reply 385

@already123 it’s for the midlands. No start date as of yet as I’m going through check process yet.

Is the Border force Readiness Task Force (RTF) includes an apprenticeship or not?

I don’t think you might and if there is maths, it would be a complicated one.

Hello, usually apprenticeship roles have it in the title of the job application. As you said its "Border Force Officer", I am assuming it is EO. As far as I am aware there are no offerings for EO apprenticeship in Border Force.

The apprenticeship is for AO roles, although there are some EO officers that are doing the apprenticeship as they got promoted whilst half way.

How did you get through application then? In the ad for the campaign I applied to, for EO it states you need 5 GCSEs C or above including maths and English. For AO apprenticeship it was at least grade D in maths and English

Maybe the result will be in soon so that’s the reason why they did not update us.

Why were you expecting an update today?

Hi, thanks for that.

Which recruitment route did you take and how long did it take in the end? Between interview being told successful then from that point to being cleared to start.

What shifts do you do seen some examples that vary so interested to see the different variants?

Cheers

Hi, So firstly apologies for the late response 😅 secondly my case was slightly different as I transfered from immigration enforcement but either way its roughly the same time frame to be fair so if I can remember correctly it was game based assessment then pre recorded interview nd then online assessment centre with written exercise nd interview in the end it took me almost 3 months from first assessment to final online assessment centre but then checks etc took closer to 4months and all in all around 7-8months from starting to being offered the role.

Shifts can vary port to port n team to team but speaking of Heathrow in my team and terminal we do 1 night a week (required) nd then early starts as early as 5/6am then mid shift starting at around 9am then there's lates which start at like 12pm or 2
Length wise each shift is about 9-10hrs long
