Got my email too. Worried about the interview now. I got onto a reserve list for Liverpool and Seaforth docks but my score was really low and I can't even remember the questions from that interview!

Don’t get any easier do they. I’m kind of at the point now where I’m just thinking if it happens it happens and I’m not stressing too much about it
Anyone on here give me any tips on previous asked questions in pre recorded. I know it's hard to revise but interested in type of questions.

Me. First time applicant. Was just reading a thread from applicants for last year and saw your name. You are definitely keen. Hopefully this is your year

From reading all the posts on a similar thread, it looks like they are questions based around name a time when you did this.... and how you would react to a situation. Apparently no right or wrong answers. I hope anyway!!!!

Me too and i had to do the same thing for my current job and it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. More worried about the long drawn out process that appears to be ahead if we are successful

I got an email to say I didn't meet eligibility requirements. Can anyone tell me if it could be due to my test score? I got 75%. I can't think of be any other reason as I've already been given a formal offer for BFO for another region. I have all the qualifications & driving licence required and am currently working as Border Force Apprentice. What do they mean by eligibility?

That doesnt sound right if you are already an apprentice. What test do you mean? I dont remember getting any results unless its still to come

If you check your feedback on your application it gives a score for the verbal test you did. Mine was 75%. It definitely sounds strange when it's all the same qualifications they ask for when you apply for either BFO or BFA and I've been successful for both, I've emailed them querying it but just wondering if people with lower scores got interviews?

I would prefer if it was like this, the apprentice questions were very general, it would be nice to talk about specific situations

I wouldn’t worry too much mate you’ll get automatically promoted in a year anyway on the apprentice ship

It won’t be your test score as I got 73% and passed the sift.

ah thank you. i got 74 for BFO and 81 for BFA. But it says scored better than 74 and 81% than others. Maybe because you are already in the job. I was worried about applying for both. I have the qualifications for BFO but possibly not experience. Happy to do BFA although would struggle financially. I hope you get an answer to your question or it doesnt seem like progression is as easy as they say.

I wouldn’t worry too much about experience, nothing seems to indicate they really care too much about it, they just want the right attitude.

Apparently, that's not the case, though you would think it should be. I asked when I started and was told it's 18 months as apprentice which just leads to a permanent AO position not EO.

Thanks for confirming that. Just doesn't make sense then as I have all the other qualifications and experience required.

Seriously?! That’s ******* shite, I’m pretty sure they try to pass it off as a promotion as well but thinking about it it’s just worded in a way to make you think that.

I’d definitely chase them then about it then.

Thanks. It can't be due to me already being in the job as I wasn't at the time I applied. I'm happy enough with staying an apprentice for the time being as I'm lucky enough to also get good AHA but I just don't understand the reason I'm not eligible for BFO especially when they've offered me a position previously at another location.

You're right! And from what I can see the apprentices do pretty much the same work as the officers.
