Just an update: Found four emails in my Inbox this morning basically saying I passed all my checks and that the vacancy holder will ring me to discuss a start date. The wait was long, but I hope it was all worth it at the end. All the best for anyone who is currently waiting:
Timescale:

Applied: Feb
Assessment and interview: March
Provisional offer: April
SC and ASC cleared: this month

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your timeline. Best of luck in your new job.

Nothing for Manchester, 2 months down only 4 left on the reserve list matter of time before HORC do yet another campaign

They must be working through the reserve list because I received a provisional offer today. I am due to start a new job soon within CS, so I’ll probably decline this offer. Hopefully, you will receive an offer soon!

Just got an email for Heathrow Jan campaign
Says pre employment checks have been completed now onto additional employment checks
I didn’t know that was a thing! Does anyone know how long that takes?

I received 2 emails today. First one stating ASC completed successfully. Second stating initial pre-employment checks completed successfully and additional pre-employment checks are in progress. What I find confusing is that I thought the ASC are actually the additional pre-employment checks. Anyone else received emails in this order?

I am also part of the same campaign and received this email 2 weeks ago, I've seen that additional checks (which is the ASC1 form) begin after SC which in my case was almost 3 months ago! it's a 3 stage process for vetting - SC - Pre Employment Checks (PEC) and then Additional Checks (ASC1). A few are starting to receive start dates so I'm hoping it's not too long before hearing an outcome this has been the longest job application ever.

Pre employment checks are usually the things like a reference from your current employer, getting you a formal offer etc.

Well that’s how it usually works in the normal world, in the world of the civil service who knows lmao!

I have had SC complete on my portal for a couple of weeks. I am already in the Civil service and was SC cleared in April. Not sure if this has any bearing. Also on the ASC 1 form it states you do not have to fill in much of the form as already a civil servant. Good luck with your application.

Thank you, I applied last year April 2022, got put on reserve list September 2022, received offer March 2023, Passed all checks beginning of July 2023, start date September 2023. I'm still mulling things over as I have a good job 5 minutes from home, set shift times, regular pay increases. I'd need to factor in longer commute times, the walk from carpark to terminal, getting through security at the airport and the fact that due to my pre booked annual leave I wouldn't get on a training course to next year now, so I'd have a massive shortfall in salary as AHA isn't paid until after your training is completed. So I've alot to consider. I wish you all the best 👍

I mate I currently work at heathrow and regarding the staff car parks there are regular buses that take you to the terminals. 2,3 bus takes about 10mins max terminal 5 5 mins max and terminal 4 I’ve never been to but you can walk I’ve heard.

staff search varies ALOT can take anywhere from 3 mins to 10mins to get through depending on day time

Thanks Mate, it's up North, a smaller Airport than Heathrow. Walking will get my steps up😂

Are there any existing Executive Officers on here that have been in the role for a while? I'm at final offer stage and I wanted to know if your AHA/AHW has decreased per annum at any time. I have a job alert set up on home office website and noticed that the AHA/AHW has significantly reduced for airport locations on the jobs that were advertised this morning for Immigration roles with the same basic salary as EO's. There's a really useful link on the job advert called candidate further information that I wish had been enclosed when I applied last year as it goes into alot of detail about everything from application stage to starting in the role. It's worth reading. I know AHA is based on business needs/location etc but can go up as well as down or even removed by Managers in some circumstances as in poor performance. My worry with AHA is that it's not guaranteed and makes up £10,000 of my salary at my location. I was just concerned when I saw the adverts this morning how much AHA had reduced. I know some Officers pop on here to assist with questions now and again. Was just curious if anyone's AHA had fluctuated greatly whilst being in the role. I just need to take it all in, in making my decision, making sure I'm crossing the t's and dotting the i's as my existing salary is fixed and I'm not keen on the fact that your salary could reduce especially if you rely on the set amount you've been used to being paid. Thanks 😊
