Hi! I applied back in March and was given my provisional acceptance in April, I’ve passed everything, and am now on my additional pre-employment checks, which I’ve been on since July. Does anyone know roughly when these will be completed? I know it seems that it’s mostly a case-by-case sort of thing, but does anyone have any rough ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Mate.I am on same time line as you.Since 21st july I am on Additional pre Employment checks.I got My sc clearance and PST training clearance, so just waiting for ASC checks. It’s been 10 weeks already so hopefully not long.Did you apply for Heathrow as well?

Hey there, yep that’s exactly the same as me, Heathrow too! I forgot to mention that in my initial post. I’ve just been constantly checking various online forums like this to see how others are doing, but it’s definitely a lot more easier to go through when others are going through the same thing. Hopefully it’ll be soon, good luck!

Morning, does anyone have a contact number through the civil service route? Preferably for on boarding? Thanks

I have Finally passed all checks and been offered a start date. My post concerns a border force position at Heathrow. I applied as part of the Jan/Feb 2023 recruitment drive. I will give my breakdown of the process as the home office offers no real guidance on timelines. Of course every application is unique with different circumstances which I had a my own specifics. For security reason I won't go in depth or offer precise details. So my full timeline is as follows,
Applied end of Febuary 2023
1.Assesment took for provisional offer took 1 month
2. Onboarding and Right to Work checks 1/2 month
3. UKSV Vetting 2 and 3/4 months
4. PDF of UKSV notification 3 working days
5. Initial Pre-Employment Check completion 1 month
6. Additional Security Check 2 and 1/2 months (~21 weeks from sending)
7. Confirmation of completion and phone call to set up start date 24h
8. Start date of one month after checks completed
Total 7 months
Hang in there and good luck to those still waiting.

After so many nerve racking months, I can finally say that I have a start date and contract! For everyone waiting to hear back, all I can say is just be patient, take it off your mind and it will eventually all fall into place. I applied in Feb, provisional offer in March, SC in April, PEC in July and ASC completion in September with a start date within 24h after that. Best of luck to everyone waiting on news and well done to those who have crossed the finishing line for this campaign, we did it!

I won’t be applying, they can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine, if you read the advert there is only 21 jobs, so most if not all successful candidates will be placed yet again onto yet another reserve list

The email I received made it clear that it is a reserve list. It states 21 jobs because there are 21 locations.

Did you hear back about your training yet? I started a month ago and they told me there are no training courses available until 2024! I don’t know what I’ll do until then as there’s only so much shadowing I can do!

Strange, I am starting in November at Heathrow and they have booked me training according to the normal schedule. My training does require three weeks away from base so I am suprised.

I didn't event get told it was 2024. They attributed it to the recent Industrial Action. It's definitely a change for me, having previously been a Police Constable in GMP where the training is done before you even meet your actual team. So I assume it's going to be early 2024 likely January/February time.

Have you received communication specifically with more details about the training and about your first day? After the start and training dates were confirmed and contract sent, I haven't had any further information. I also start in November.

Good morning,

For anyone waiting back from Manchester just an update. I got an email today 3rd October saying that additional security checks are now complete. I got SC on 31st July so it's been a bit of a wait.

Is the training immigration? I started a month ago and I’ve been told my immigration/ customs training won’t be until 2024. It makes no sense as people who haven’t started yet are getting training dates. I’m not sure whether to raise it or just wait. I am enjoying shadowing and observing but there’s only so much you can do and it’s making me feel pretty useless! :frown:

What date do you start in November as I do also, but been advised after 3 day induction it’s a one week shadowing at LHR before commencing training

This came from the Resourcing manager, received emails and spoke over the phone. I’m due to start 1st November. When/where did your info come from and when do you start

Hi everyone, I have finally received the email saying I have passed my ASC1 check which means that all my 3 checks are now completed. However, does anyone know what would the next steps be? My portal is showing pre-employment checks in progress at the moment. The email which I received for the ASC1 completion does not have any information regarding the next steps. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!
