qmul isn't rubbish.

but yes it has really old ones, and then former polys. Its the nature of a metropolitan city.

Yes, it is just you. Only in the tiny, snobbish minds of TSR users would QMUL be considered "rubbish"

QMUL is actually a good university, maybe on the middling side of good but it rates very highly for subjects like English. I think it just hasn't done enough to raise its profile.
But generally yes, I see what you mean. Socrates is right about the former poly / UoL divide. Obviously only UoL unis feature in the 'Golden Triangle' with Oxbridge, so historically they're bound to be seen as better.

my cousin said the same thing he says there are no 'BBB' unis!!! However I acutally think QMUL is 'top slash middle' uni, so I guess thats the closest to middle. and brunel is like bottom/middle.

I think those that are part of the univeristy of London are quite good even though there is a range from like UCL to goldsmiths. But yh each to their own

What a pile of bullcrap. I'm applying to City, Westminster, Goldsmiths, QMUL and Brunel to do Politics and all of the requirements are BBB-BCC except for Westminster.

I don't know why people are so impressed by/obsessed with London universities in general anyway...

Besides, a lot of the colleges of the UoL are specialist (LSE, SOAS, Imperial although that's independent now). I don't know what point I was trying to make with that exactly, but there it is.

But entry standards don't always reflect perceived reputation. Personally I'd say there was a big difference between the reps of QMUL and City or Westminster.
Sorry, I don't mean to suggest anything bad about your choices, obviously reputation is a very subjective thing and shouldn't be anyone's only consideration when applying somewhere
