Would you definitely go there, provided you get an offer?

Just wondering...

A refreshing discussion to relax us all a little bit

Unless I happen to receive an offer from London Met; Oxford would be my first choice.

If I get an offer I will go, it would be silly not to.

I would. For most subjects this can be considered a silly question: Oxford is usually the clear best choice, but for Medicine this is not always the case. For me Oxford is my personal favourite however, by a large margin.

I do really love Edinburgh, so if I did get an offer from Oxford and one from there I'd be torn at having to not go to one of them. Factors like the workload and intensity of Oxford and how much I love the city of Edinburgh might make me step back and consider my decision.

Realistically though, I don't think I'd ever turn down Oxford. It's too great an opportunity, and the resources I'd have there to study with would be incredible.

Would be a tough call between Harvard/Princeton/MIT and Oxford.

If I get an offer - definitely my first choice! It is an amazing university and I rather like the flexibility of the course. I kinda prefer warwick's MORSE purely as course description, but I am sure I could tailor an oxford course even better

If they give me an offer, i'd bite their hands off. Quite literally in fact.

However, I'd be very very surprised if they did

Seems like that's the case with everyone Oxford all the way...

As for me personally, call me silly but I'd be torn between Oxford and UCL (provided that I get the offers of course )...I have lived in London since coming to UK, got a secure job, sharing a flat with my partner...Going to Oxford would mean changing all my life...But then again-probably for the best?

I'm not expecting an interview let alone an offer, so I am assuming I won't get an offer. Problem solved

(slightly different - ive applied to cambridge but its the same problem)

i was talking about it the other day. I have had an offer off birmingham of AB (but told im practically in - in my interview we were talking about the stucture of the open day - what i would have changed -what could be improved etc), i love the uni, i allready know lots of the staff, love the atmosphere there, love the course, love the ?research thats going on there, told to apply for this £5K per year scolarship, and a £1.5k sponsership scheme run by the uni.

If i manage to get both, i will need to have a serious think about it. £6.5K per year is a lot of money to turn down just to go to cambridge. Is it really worth turning down £26k?

I'd second that, however, there is no harm in dreaming, is there?

Its just a discussion...

Quite a few people do actually turn Oxford down, believe it or not. And then there are the people that don't meet their offer...

Was that a question? If it was: I'm not applying to Chicago, as they don't give much financial aid to internationals. Wharton is an exception on my list, I'll see what I'll do if I get accepted there.

Sorry, I know it is just a discussion. It's just my problem is solved as I won't get an offer so I don't need to think about it being my 1st choice
Hmm, I don't think there is any harm in dreaming but I am not one for it.
