I've been offered an interview at Teesside University for the Dental Hygiene course, I was wondering if anyone has experience and example questions from previous years!? :smile:

hi guys, i have my interview on the 29th jan first time applying to teeside but this will be my third year applying overall ! Any tips for the interview process 😕 I'm 27 next month and i would really like to start my life and feel like i can't until i am a hygienist !

Hi there,

Congratulations on securing an interview at Teesside!

It can be daunting but there's honestly no need to worry and everyone will be in the same boat.

During your interview, you'll essentially be asked 6 questions which are linked to a range of scenarios mapped against the NHS Constitution:
• privacy & dignity
• resilience & reflective ability
• problem solving
• advocacy & empowerment
• honesty & integrity
• team working.

We actually have the below video which may provide you with some help and advice. It features support and information on our application process, your personal statement and a load of tips to prepare for your interview.

thank you for this!! - I am curious as to why the interview process will last 3 hours if there's only 6 questions ! Do we get a tour of the campus etc included?

yes a presentation will be done and you are given a specific time slot for your interview!! you don’t have to attend the presentation but i think its good to xx good luck x

Hi lovely, I’m currently in year 13 I had my interview today there was loads of people with me around your age so don’t feel put off by how long it’s taking !! Staff r so lovely if cobsisted of a 40 minute lecture at the beginning with a lecturer explaining the different healthcare courses etc and then the actual interview lasted like 15minutes ?! it was 6 questions long based on skills u can bring , situations u have been in and what the role is , good luck ☺️

I got an offer for dental nurse as I applied to both dental hygiene and nurse !!! I think it went okay as I was very nervous so if I had been a little more confident it could’ve gone better !! How was it?!?!

I have also been offered a place on the dental nurse course, are you accepting the offer I have been scrolling through all of these posts trying to find others that are going to be on this course
