Higher English

Hello, has anyone got any tips for learning the quotes/analyses for texts in English? I’m doing norman maccaig poetry and dr Jekyll and mr Hyde but any tips on how to remember or learn texts for the prelim/exam would be much appreciated Thank you x

For me, I found that actually trying to understand the purpose behind the poem helps and that way you can pretty much apply any of the quotes to that purpose (I find that you can get away with waffling as long as it makes some degree of sense).

I did MacCaig for Nat 5 so can't remember stuff too well but Assisi for example is a commentary on the hypocrisy of the church and religion as a whole, so if you keep that in mind as well as techniques then you can say almost anything that relates back to it.

I hope this doesn't sound pretentious or anything and that it helps
