Don't forget Bellion .

Manchester Utd will struggle to overcome Arsenal and Chelsea, even with Rooney, considering the starts that the three clubs have made.

It'll be interesting to see how Manchester Utd do once Heinze, Ferdinand and van Nistelrooy return to action (and Rooney after his injury).

But Arsenal look untouchable at the moment.

I think he's a good signing.. I live in Madrid and a lot of my friends here who support Real, are pleased that they have him, because he adds pace alongside Ronaldo!

Remember the Mail might be making this up.
Probably, they are a tabloid after all.

Being a Liverpool supporter I thought this was mad. Firstly because it was too little for Owen £8million !! The player we got in exchange was already planning to come anyway?!

However....Liverpool had indeed become too dependent on Mr Owen.

God Save The King, Long Live The King - I think this is a good comment - Good Luck to Owen post Liverpool but also Long live Cisse!

Good option for everyone....in retrospect....

I know the Mail can over do it on certain things but im sure they are right.

When the RWC 2003 was on...which ENGLAND WON...(sorry) There was also talk then of him switching to football management.

Now I think back to this and if this rumour was untrue he would have denied this after the RWC win. This was not the case.

Anyone who has the sort of desire to win, like Clive, would see that once you have done everything there is to do in one sport, maybe its time to do another sport or retire.

Maybe Im wrong - but this story is old news.....

Wayne Rooney, yes is a good player, but hes not Jesus!! He cant turn water into wine and neither can he win you a championship!

What a waste of money. For a club who needed him £25M is a bargain, but as Jose Mourinho said, Man Utd already have van Nistelrooy, Smith, and Saha - the form Alan Smith is in at the moment is Wayne Rooney that much better? Can you honestly see him playing as good as and scoring as many goals as Smith has recently? I can't, and for £25M, it isn't that much of an improvement to the United squad. Certainly nothing for Arsenal to worry about.

Man Utds main problem at the moment is that their strikers just whack the ball straight at the keeper. Failing to score in 90 minutes against both Everton and Blackburn, with quite a few chances, speaks for itself. Rooney has shown he is a cool calm striker, which is exactly what United need. Smith has done reasonably well, but he has mostly been playing as the lone striker, and he has been getting lots of chances, goals are to be expected. I think Rooney is a excellent buy for Man Utd, and can only improve Man Utd's chances of sucess.

Or even perhaps Chelsea and Newcastle.
