Wasn't he the chap who said: "By my own admission, I'm magnificant"?

    Modest chap.

    Well done Sweden though.
Well I would class playing alongside the likes of Trezeguet and Del Piero proof that he is indeed magnificent - if it was need - and we all just love strikers with confidence - makes them twice the player.

easy... Clough was a studio pundit for a world cup qualifier (for either 74 or 78 can't remember which) and England needed a result to qualify. Clough said England would win because the Polish keeper was a "clown". The keeper, Tomaszewski, proceeded to play an absolute blinder, and England failed to reach the finals. Many think Clough's comment was what prevented him getting the England job.

68-6 what the hell is going down here, we are missing Flintoff badly and the Indian bowlers have seized on it. We could do with one more big batsman at number 5 or 6.

This is the india that have been playing for 2 years before that gap after pakistan taht has done us so much harm
not easy to defend just 200 but i felt we fielded and bowled superbly, batting still a concern but can be worked on

    good victory to my boys

btw i felt steve harmison bowled beautifully for the english, best spell ive seen from him in odi cricket.

we need to field and bowl like that consistently and well be fine, although more runs would have been useful

the aussies would have been proud of the way we defended that score today, thats how they do it!

aussies shmozies ! lol. a nice performance by india; i am a pakistan supporter and living in england, but i was hoping for an indiana victory today. this is simply because i feel that with such a cracking line-up of players, they should be giving the world much better cricket than they have been lately.

that pakistan vs india match got sold out SO FAST !!! it promises to be a very good game. if this fixture isn't incentive enough for both sides to get their heads together, then i don't know what is!

and that aussie victory !!!!!!!!!!!!! what was it in your view?

    a) only pakistan could squander that kind of a chance?

    OR

    b) only australia could pull that kind of a victory?

    aleem

Good goal. Would be good to see if he could do it against real defenders. The guy who gets the first tackle (not the big air shot) and the last was a complete shocker.

Yeh. I thought that, having had another few looks at it - the first guy to put the 'tackle' in on Ibrahimovic puts in the most pathetic attempt at a shoulder barge ever-seen, before jumping clean over the ball!

The three guys who end up putting in the last ditch tackles (around/in the box) are just running about like total amateurs. And the goalkeeper manages to get totally wrong footed too!

After England's poor performances in Euro 2004, along with the recent draw against Austria, i have come to the conclusion that England are as bad as Manchester United at the minute.

Techincally there are no gifted players in England, with a few possible exceptions ; Shaun Wright Phillips, Joe Cole and ... em... thats it

In Euro 2004, Scholes should have been dropped, along with Beckham, Owen, James and probably even Steven Gerrard.

Theres something really bad, when you have to play Ledley King in centre-back, name David Beckham as youre captain and play Michael Owen in every match.

The reality is that England lack a 'proven' striker (after all Rooney did score 4goals against two extremely poor European teams - Croatia and Switzerland - and has failed to bang 18-25 goals in the league). After all it was just Xmas 2003 when Everton fans in Goodison were chanting "Who ate all the pies? WWWAAYYNNNEEE RROONNNNNEEEEYYY", after Rooney's dip in form.

Don't blame Sven, you had Robson, you had Venables , you had Hoddle and you had Keegan and look what they done

Credit must be given to Frank Lampard, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole

In conclusion, England lack skill, speed and true spirit - the best England can hope for in the World Cup Finals in 2006 is to get out of the group stages (thats if they even manage to qualify for the upcoming world cup).

Surely England fans must identify weaknesses throughout the team??
