147-8 now - chanderpaul (47) finally out!
WI need 71 off 98, but it will be very difficult for the two at the crease now

Played Vaughan, a good catch.

lol, what were the odds?
6/1, the same as Flintoff. Trescothik was favourite (to be expected I suppose) at 3/1, IIRC.

183/8. 35 off 42 balls. This is great stuff, best match of the tournament.

What a difference a week makes...

And yes - I voted a week ago! Although, in hindsight, maybe I should have 'ad a flutter, ah well.

I know this counts for sh*t now - and well done to the England boys, it was a cracker - but Wharf was pretty economical before that over.

Look how dark it is though! It wasn't possible to get a decent impression of the light in the match - because Sky use all manner of gadgetry to improve the images - but I couldn't bat in that!

well i dont suppose it's just wharf to blame...

the england batting lineup should be capable of 250 or more - they have so many good batsmen, facing fairly unestablished west indian bowlers!

i didn't get to watch the match, but i can't believe we lost after reducing them 149-8! what happened to the bowling/fielding? or did that partnership bat really well?

It was pretty overcast, on a worn pitch, from what i've heard it was not easy batting at all, hense the low scores from both teams. But yes, on paper the eng. team looked much stronger.

As has been said, the conditions were really poor! Although England, batting first, should have made more than 216 (?).

Three words: Browne, Bradshaw - Barbados.

they batted very sensibly and didn't take too many risks, cos they knew they the run rate was well below 6
