No-one will ever call him the best in the world because hes English and young? What a load of *******s. If anything itll work in his favour. Scoring a hat-trick on your european debut is amazing but that doesnt necessarily mean your the best in the world. As someone said above, time will tell but hes definatley going the right way.

well put

No hes isnt the best player in the world! Yes he is very talented and if he stays injury free he should have a great career. However he only scored 8 goals last season and yes he has progressed but cannont be classed as the best player
Tahts maybe because he was stuck in Everton and can't get any decent chances.

agreed, whats with newcastle ? there ****e they cudnt afford him firstly, as there so crap

secondly, they might as well quit while there ahead
They're not crap but they're not the best obviously. If they are crap, the Premier League is crap, since they have finished 4th, 3rd and 5th in the last 3 seasons. If this is the case, Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea aren't as great as everone thinks they are

Football is accepted worldwide as a sport, but what makes it different to a hobby such as walking, or sailing, or even chess?

Sailing is a sport. I guess sports are activites which you play in direct competition. Hobbies tend to be less competitive

i guess Sports (eg. football) is set-ruled, has authorities (eg. the refs) and it usualy is a kinda business and is profitable.

hobby (eg. kickabout) is socially acceptable and occurs in leisure time.

there's no reason why you can't play football as a hobby.

your hobby can include a sport, so the two can be linked.

Football can be both sport and hobby.

Next season's will be Liverpool's I reckon - Benitez can work wonders but the squad he got this season was rubbish - give him a while to work on it.

Although......why did he loan out le Tallec?
i believe managers want to do well in the premiership (foriegners) they have to take Arsene Wenger as an example. signed medioker players at the time, henry, viera, pires and turned them into gems.

the style that arsenal play were at least two people run either side of a player to give two options to pass is very difficult to defend against.

however i dont think that benitez will do well in the premiership, considering the competition.

Semi-final of champions league is a posibility.

Don't let our lady soccer players down (or yourself down if you play yourself!). Soccer (or football if you live in UK) is fun, and girls play it too! This is a thread for those people, so let's get enthusiastic and post some more!

liverpool's main objective for the premiership should be to finish atleast in the top 5(of which i think the best they can get is 4th)

New.U aren't crap.they are a good team,and just because they can't afford rooney doesn't mean that they aren't good.look at arsenal,they aren't the richest around,but they're still one of the best.
Real madrid are the 2nd richest in the world i think, and they aren't playing too well.
