Hash... one their day Holland could beat Australia... UAE on their day could beat pakistan by 10 wickets...

anyways what really frustrates me about living here in the uk is why cricket is rated as the 3rd/4th national sport after football/rugby... i mean didnt the british invent cricket many years back so why is it hardly played here... whereas in the subcontinent ppl will probably die for their cricket ( some would )... why cant that happen here?

I realise this, it was either him or Johnson, but then he's lacking the experience. I suppose I could have said Sullivan since he will never play as keeper, not sure we still have him or not. It was a difficult choice for me to pick

1/2 of the population in England don't care about RU .
And even more don't care about RL

Just stating the facts
Believe me, I've had this argument a million times back home - I'm from one of the heartlands of RL.

So I can see. Well just wait and see what Mark_KK has to say about it

It seems they enjoy having a popularity competition but when I've heard plenty of them I've not heard about how football might have influenced it - eg London.

No, Holland on their day really wouldn't beat Australia, neither would UAE on their day beat Pakistan (well all of you guys would claim match fixing if that happened anyway).

I am saying that if all the teams were playing to the best of their abilities, then India would come out on top.

I'd place Carroll over your other keeper anyday. Before then you had Barthez (sp). It's true you haven't found a replacement at his level though.

Everyone plays football here. It is a simple game, and children can easily pick it up.

With cricket the game is so long and complicated that it simply doesn't appeal to children. Also it requires specialist equipment bats pads balls, gloves etc etc. With football, rugby all you need is a ball. Plus a lot of people unfairly deem cricket to be boring, so a lot people don't even bother to try and understand/ watch it.

Boro: Doriva - he only ever comes on when we're holding out for a lead or are being defensive (or of course for injuries) yet he still manages to give the ball to the opposition 10 times in 5 minutes.

Can anyone name some pretty decent own goals? At the moment I can only think of Cygan. Any other offers?

Frank Sinclair from the halfway line (literally) two(three?) seasons ago at the Riverside - it was the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life.
