Reading struggles

I'm doing an Englsih degree but I'm really struggling with the reading. It's OU and very limited so I don't get to choose special areas of interest or anything so the reading list is what it is but I'm struggling so much with some of them! A lot of them are classics and I find it really hard to get into them and I just get bored and stuff. Does anyone have any tips on making them bearable?

i relate with that

what do u think of being part of informal discussions related to the classics? like maybe book forums? or joining discord servers that are solely themed on classics?
or what about podcasts or checking out yt vids on it?
or even a retelling of the same classic, either in movie or book ?

They're really good ideas and I hadn't thought of that! When I talk about them I find it a bit more interesting so forums would be a great place to start

Sometimes watching the film of the book can help.
I can relate to what you say having found many of the books I read for my degree deadly boring!
