Musical theatre vs. Law

Hiya,

So I’m really stuck at the moment in a head versus heart situation. My heart says musical theatre but my head says law. Im applying for college to do a musical theatre course (equivalent to two alevels) and then two alevels (history and law). If I was to go into law, would this be enough to get on a decent law degree?

This is where I get a bit annoyed.

You can go into law with or without a degree. The hard part is securing the job and getting the training contract (if applicable).

You can go into musical theatre with no qualifications or any qualifications

You can go into law degrees with any 3 random A Levels; if universities have a preference, they tend to go for the more traditional and academic subjects

Law A Level has a bad rep for harsh marking from what I have heard (I think I have also read about syllabus issues, but not sure on that one)

If you want to cover both areas, you can do a law degree and then theatre in your spare time (they say there is no money in theatre).
If you really want to push it, you can score high A Level grades then apply for a musical theatre degree (musical theatre degrees do not necessarily need high grades or 3 full A Levels, but you need raw talent), but then do an SQE to become a solicitor or do a law conversion course to become a barrister or solicitor (not worth it if you want to become a solicitor).
If you want to skip the degree altogether, do CILEx qualifications up to Level 6 (Levels 3 and 6 shoud be the only levels you need to be concerned with) before going into either areas of law or go into theatre.

Personally, I would do 3 academic A Levels (other than law unless you really like it) and volunteer at a theatre in my spare time, with intentions of applying for a law degree. However, that is just me.

Competition for roles in musical theatre is intense, and you need to be outrageously good.
Competition for training contracts in law is just as intense (if not more) as musical theatre.
You would need to do a lot of networking.
