a bit confused

I'm confused on the difference of these two foundation pharmacy courses..

They're both from kingston uni

1. https://www.kingston.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/pharmacy/
the one where its from this page from the MPharm page and it has the UCAS code of B321 and its just one year (?) idk..

But the other one is this

2. https://www.kingston.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/pharmaceutical-chemical-sciences/
it has a UCAS code of F190 and its 2 years? and once you complete it you go to 2nd year of MPharm course if you do well

But I don't understand why for 1. you apparently need a B in Chemistry and for 2. you at least need a D in Chemistry ... and the UCAS points are different for both of them.. 1. is 80-88 and 2. is 96-112

i get it but i also do not 😭
can someone explain what the differences are here?

Hi @5_ooo

I am confused too! So I have reached out to try to get you some more specific information

The main difference I know if is that the general one year Foundation is designed for people who have little to no science subjects at A Level, but the 2-year Pre-Pharmacy does require A Level Chemistry plus Maths, Physics or Biology. There are also differences in content to the two courses.

Will hopefully be able to get back to you with a better answer asap!

Thanks
Daisy

Hey @5_ooo

I have received the following from the faculty advisor:

"The two year pre-pharmacy foundation bridges the gap in terms of qualifications for applicants who are overqualified for the 5 year MPharm with foundation, but who do not meet the criteria for the 4 year programme. It is taught at a higher level than the foundation year of the 5 year MPharm programme."

Hope that helps you

Thanks!
