He’s struggling with the fitness which is entirely his own stupid fault for being a lazy bugger and not working on it when he had the time. Decisions he is deeply regretting now. I am a dentist myself so would have been mortified had they round anything wrong with his teeth but thankfully he was ok lol! He’s not on the DLE though, despite a million attempts to try and get it sorted which is very frustrating as he says it’s really good for revision etc

Not to stress you but son just told me people got reflighted over fitness test. (I think the latest one) Him on the other hand just failed again for his area not being tidy enough. And got shouted at for the first time.

Yup mine was reflighted. He’s gutted but it’s his own bloody fault. Harsh lesson learned

Hi Jess
My sons currently on wk3. We were told there are 3 occasions when they are allowed off base, this is for a 6hour window and they are only allowed to be within a one hour distance from the base incase they are called back. That’s the only time allowed whilst at basic.

Hi, my son was campion too and has just been reflighted on the final inspection, he’s gutted.
Is it Douglas that is behind campion? I’m trying to find out if the base closes down for Easter to work out his new potential graduation date 🤦🏻*♀️. The new flight are off base at the moment…

Hi Kate, my son has just passed his aptitude test and is going to apply for survival equipment specialist.
Do you have any idea how often they do phase 1 training? I’m worried as we’ve booked a big holiday to Egypt in August which son is going on and will he miss his career opportunity if he still goes

My son is nearing the end of his 10 weeks . It appears it’s around every two weeks. If they get reflighted for failing something it’s back two weeks to the next intake. If you look on instagram or Facebook when they post about the intake that’s had their passing out parade - again it seems to be 2 weeks between

My son has just graduated from phase 1, there are multiple other steps for your son to get through before he will have a date to start basic training:
Interview/medical/fitness test…
On the portal there is a calendar to indicate when the applicant is not available, get your son to put your holiday dates in there so his recruiter can see he isn’t available.
They also schedule their basic training so it finishes close to the start of the phase 2 trade training, so there are a few considerations.
Hope this helps.

How many times do you do PE(if that's what you call it, or excersise) weekly?

Hello, I’m looking for a bit if advice on where I can find a week by week breakdown of the phase 1 training at RAF Halton. For example IOT has modules that you can pick out and describe, listing the different types of exercises and tests within them. However, I can’t seem to find anything like this at Halton? Thanks!!!

If you go on Youtube, i'm pretty sure there is a video all about it

There’s a week by week breakdown of BRTC at Halton on YouTube. It’s an overview rather than detail though.
There are some video blogs from recruits there too which give an insight into it. They’re old but from a recruit perspective, still relevant.
Here’s a detailed description from a chap who completed it last year; https://youtu.be/bvJ1asKKW_o?si=l3CGtjSk9Je0HNF6
