I’m doing dentistry there, haven’t heard GDC say anything about it

GDC won't be bothered, the GMC however are bothered. As for you doing dentistry there, may I ask which year you are in and how you are finding it? What clinical work have you covered?

hi im looking to apply in ciu and ive heard its not the best because u have to pay extra for clinical hours??could you pls let me know how it is there??

Yes you have to pay as the uni will not give you the practical work you need. Also, the 1600 hours, you will not even get close to that, save yourself and head over to a real EU country

Hi where did you hear this? Can anybody confirm whether this is the case or not please. Tbf I don’t mind paying extra as long as the 1600 hours are definitely included within the programme.

Not definitely, nowhere close, the GDC requirements is to have 1600 signed off hours in chair, NOT as an assistant, so REAL work with patients. You're definitely not getting that even if you pay for it. You'll likely need to stay over a year after grad, get your georgian license and then go for it. I would strongly recommend staying away from countries like Georgia and Serbia for dentistry, stick to the EU countries that are ORE exempt, pay the extra but then save in the long run

Hi I’ve decided to apply to CIU this year, the hours are included in the course. The agency i went though dealt with it all on our behalf

Can you please prove this? and what agency? I am not going to say this is outright misinformation, but I have heard otherwise, so for the sake of everyone in the forum, please provide evidence, as 1600 hours that the GDC require is no joke

hi, do you think the ORE will be a huge issue?

ORE is a dentistry only exam, the person you replied to mentioned medicine. If you are thinking of whether the ORE will be a huge issue, the answer is yes. I have made videos about this also and have extensively preached about the importance of AVOIDING the ORE at all costs

Yeah it is a good university, i'm a student in Georgia as well

What are you studying there?

is Georgia worth it?

For medicine MAYBE, depending on their status on the maybe and blacklist by the GMC, so keep an eye on that, but having that risk already should be a red flag

for dentistry ... NO

stay far away
