Ah brilliant, thanks @Silly_scientist and @Ram Charan - I have filled in the accommodation preference form for Parkwood so hopefully I get a spot there!
All being well and as long as A level exams go to plan, see you in September! 😊

Hi to existing med students. Are there ‘student’ areas for accommodation for private houses. Thinking of investing in a house there to rent to students and would like to know what areas are preferred or which to avoid.

If accommodation is provided on your placements in years 3,4,5 then you don’t need private accommodation for the whole year?

Sorry should say I’m a parent of an offer holder and looking at ways to minimise costs overalll!

I believe so, they said they’ve been confirmed for our cohort on the KMMS Instagram stories yesterday

Hi everyone,

I'm a firm offer holder for KMMS, just submitted my accommodation form, wondered what everyone has chosen?

Anyone with conditional offers?

Hey guys, got a letter from Student Finance saying they couldn't match my course to the university - I put down KMMS as the university but I seem to remember someone saying you need to put Kent as your university when you apply... could anyone who's gone through it help me please? 🙏

Hi if you go onto KMMs website under student finance I think it takes you to university of Kent and gives course code for there. Also it states should get a little
more maintenance as course terms are longer!

Ah thanks, yeah right after posting this I thought "I should probably look on their website!" and ended up finding the info there haha...thanks for the help though, and glad to hear we may be getting extra maintenance loan to compensate 😅

@ram_chhan @Silly_scientist Hi I just got an offer for 2024 entry. Get a few questions about the student life study at KMMS. Does all lecturers have attendance? Would it be possible to skip the lecture and watch the recording online later? If not, Is the attendance very strict? How many online lessons days do you have? Would it be possible to live in London and going to uni 2-3 days a week? if I could stay with my family in London, it could saves me a lot of money and easier for me to take care my family. Thanks again

Hiya, congratulations on your offer! That's a great achievement 😊 I'm happy to try and help! So most lectures do have compulsory attendance, and you're required to keep your attendance rate at >80% for each module throughout the year. In case you can't make it or for revision purposes all lectures are recorded; sessions with active student participation (e.g. seminars and practicals) are not recorded though so that students feel free to speak their minds and ask questions in a safe space. Every few weeks though there is a full day where lecture attendance is optional where many people choose to stay at home (although the content is still mandatory!).

You will be in lectures 5 days a week, so attending only 2-3 days a week is not feasible I'm afraid. It honestly depends on where you live in London and what means of transport you use, I do have friends that commute in from London (or further!) every day who manage it ok. I'd say if it takes you an hour or so one way then you'd probably be ok? The course is pretty intense and we start at 9am most days so just worth bearing in mind! Hope that helps and do feel free to ask any other questions you might have 😊
