Is a tutoring a must have to get grade 8s and 9s?

In yr 11 or yr 10 do people do tutoring in order to get the higher grades or just revise by themselves or group study unless i need extra help in a subject should I do tutoring if so is it all subjects or more like science and maths?

if you can comfortably afford tutoring its definitely a big help but even with tutoring you still have to put in a lot of work so its entirely possible without it
i started tuition in y11, but it differs for everyone. imo it isnt needed in y10 in order to get 8/9s it just makes y11 easier

i had tuition in the sciences and maths, its entirely dependant on which subjects you struggle with. a lot of people fnd maths tuition helpful because its the kind of thing you need someone to talk through with you
I've not had tuition and am predicted to get mostly 9s/8s, it really depends on you, but it isn't a must.

i got all 8s and 9 except for a 7 in art without having a tutor. Not sure what year you're in but even if you're in year 11 you still have plenty of time to get your grades up. I was barely getting 4s in gcse maths at the start of year 11 but by working on topics i found hard every day i eventually got an 8

It definitely is not a must but can be helpful for some subjects. I give tuitions for GCSE Spanish and my students find it help. Again depends on the subject and the type of person you are. (I'm in year 12 and got many 9s at GCSE without tuitions)

No, not necessarily. I got all 9’s (except a 5 in French- I hated it and decided to ignore it). I found great teachers on YouTube, bought extra books, did lots of past papers (and not just for my exam board), listened to podcasts. However, I worked hard from year 10. I went to an average state school so can be done. However, if your parents can afford a tutor then I’m sure it would help x

Do you think its still possible if I didn't really work as hard in year 10? My mean grade in year 10 was a 7🥲
