The email they sent us had details on how you can be reimbursed for travel costs for open days

Really? I didn’t receive such email. Would I only receive it after booking an open day for offer holders?

It is a lot for the train. My daughter will be using the train too so if I find any deals I’ll post about them. Booking in advance might help.

I recvd an email on 2/2. General email - congratulation on your place

Clicked on yellow after you apply button

Then Received an offer

Then Find out more about offer days

Then a section about travel costs.

It’s a contribution towards travel costs

Can you help with travel costs?

We are pleased to be able to offer applicants coming to our in person Offer Holder Days in February (Saturday 25 February 2023) and March (Saturday 25 March 2023) a contribution towards their travel costs (please note this is subject to residential postcode, details can be found below and excludes PL postcodes). This will be in the form of a pre-loaded e-voucher which can be used for online purchases or loaded on to Apple or Google pay.

To claim your e-voucher you will need to come to the Information Desk in the Roland Levinsky Building at a point convenient to you, whilst on campus at the event, to complete your claim form. You will then be emailed your voucher no later than a week after the event.
For TQ, TR and EX postcodes - £10
For TA and BS postcodes - £20
For postcodes outside of these regions (not including PL) - £40
For any question about the travel contribution, please do not hesitate to get in touch [email protected].

Just called admissions. They told me they “don’t offer financial support of any kind to students or offer holders” .

Interesting

Also remember, the feb 25th and march 25th offer holder days aren’t for medicine specifically - they are releasing another date which will cover medicine.

Have you tried running the journey through a ticket splitter such as https://www.splitmyfare.co.uk ?
(I am having the same issue, Brighton to Plymouth is ££££ and long)

I frequently use it. It's within national rails terms and conditions- not a scam or illegal.
Split ticketing means you book two or more tickets rather than buying one rail ticket for your journey. You still travel on the same train without any changes to the normal journey.
You could use a website such as the one I suggested to work out the cheapest combination, then book directly from national rail, if that's less worrisome to you.

Yeah I’ll use the website. It’s easier because I just save the e-tickets to my apple wallet and can access them without mobile data. Thank you

Has anyone got experience of Plymouth uni's disability services? How was your experience? Good 🤞?
Also- although I am not a care leaver, I can't stay with my parents during the holidays, I value myself/ my sanity way too much for all that ah ha. Does Plymouth offer 51 week accomodation contracts?

I’ve already booked a university accommodation at Pilgrim. In terms of e contract length, all I can see in my accommodation portal is 42 weeks
