Revising for Hamlet can be a daunting task, but with some effective strategies, you can efficiently prepare for the exam.

Read the play thoroughly: Before focusing on specific extracts or soliloquies, make sure you have a good understanding of the entire play. Read it multiple times if necessary, taking notes and annotating as you go along.

Focus on key themes and motifs: Identify the major themes and motifs in the play and make sure you understand them. Some of these include revenge, madness, mortality, appearance versus reality, and the corrupting influence of power.

Memorize key quotes and soliloquies: While it's not essential to memorize the entire play, it's a good idea to commit some key quotes and soliloquies to memory. Focus on the most important speeches, such as the "To be or not to be" soliloquy, and practice reciting them until you can remember them confidently.

Practice analyzing and interpreting extracts: Look at some key extracts from the play and practice analyzing them in detail. Look for literary devices such as metaphor, simile, and personification, and consider their effect on the overall meaning of the extract.

Use study guides and online resources: There are plenty of study guides and online resources available that can help you revise for Hamlet. Use these to supplement your own reading and note-taking, and to gain a deeper understanding of the play.

Practice answering exam-style questions: Finally, practice answering exam-style questions on Hamlet. This will help you develop your exam technique and get used to the format and style of the questions you'll be asked. Make sure you practice both extract-based and wider play questions to cover all bases.

Remember, don't worry too much about trying to remember everything in the play. Focus on understanding the key themes and characters, and on being able to analyze and interpret specific extracts in detail. Good luck!

Best ways to revise for the Hamlet questions? Extract and wider play?

I missed a lot of year 1, so just trying to catch up before the exams obviously

Like, am i remembering all the soliloquys lmao?

You've missed most of the year so your not revising you are learning. I would have appreciated a board and syllabus "A" or "B" because that saves me and other fellow students time. Nonmatter you'll need to do a lot of the running yourself. All A-levels of the same subject have shared core content but a different emphasis and syllabuses requirements. Hence I would be unlikely to do well in AQA English Literature exams even though I maybe covering the same books. as those in my board Edexcel.
