Pre Registration Physiotherapy (Student Finance)

Hello everyone,

I graduated from MMU in 2022 and I have now decided that I will be going back to do my two year pre reg physiotherapy, however, I am quite confused as to how the funding works out for this because I have been told to apply on SFE as an undergraduate? but its a two year course? so do I only get 1 year funded or what

Lowkey confused

Kindest and most dearest regards,

An anxious wannabe physio

Hi @Mancmet2001

It can be quite confusing inregards to student finance for these type of courses!

Typically, applicants who have previously received student finance for an unrelated undergraduate degree will be eligible to apply for a tuition fee loan and maintenance loan ( in line with the undergraduate student finance rather than the postgraduate masters loan) for a second undergraduate nursing, physiotherapy or allied health professions degree. Therefore, you would be eligible for undergraduate student finance for both years of the course.

You can calculate your student finance here:[url= https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-calculator] https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-calculator If you have any questions regarding your eligibility we would recommend contacting student finance directly and they will be able to advise! Hopefully, someone from the Student finance team will see your post and also respond to you.

You may also be elgible for the NHS Learning Support Fund, you can find out more information here: https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/career-planning/study-and-training/considering-or-university/financial-support-university

I hope this helps!
