Am I eligible for a UK postgraduate masters loan?

Hi there

I have an unconditional offer to study for an MSc from September 2023. I have a UK undergraduate degree and previously had student finance for that undergraduate degree. I also have a post-graduate diploma qualification that I took several years after my undergraduate degree. I am also currently in employment and earn an annual salary, which I would be foregoing when I start the MSc.

My understanding from the eligibility criteria is that I could be eligible for a post-graduate master's loan that could be put towards the course fees. However, does the fact that I have a post-graduate diploma and / or the fact I earn a certain amount at the moment exclude me?

Also, I am returning to post-graduate education as a mature student with several years' past work experience.

Many thanks

No, you'll still be entitled to the postgraduate loan. It's not means tested so how much you earn won't be taken into consideration, likewise, having a PgDip won't mean you're not eligible. I have a PgDip and recieved the postgraduate loan for my MSc.
