Having trouble with Fees :(

Hi, so I lived abroad for 4 years. I was supposed to move back to the UK sooner but was unable to due to COVID. I did my O Levels and A Levels abroad. I applied for the settlement scheme this summer and got settled status since I lived here for 7 years before moving. Two of the universities I applied to are offering me home fees, while two are considering me an international student. One of the courses I applied to was a degree apprenticeship and I did this because honestly, I’m broke. I will have to apply for loans anyways. But of course because of this, they won’t consider me eligible for the degree apprenticeship but are offering me a place in the normal course. I can’t afford international fees and I really want to get a degree because already i’m behind. Is there anything I can do? It’s so unfair because I didn’t choose to leave the UK, I was a kid. Now I have to suffer the consequences of choices I didn't get to make. I don’t know what to do :frown: If all fails, I will probably choose the course that is offering me home fees.

Hi Marsx, I'm in a similar situation - born and educated in the UK, lived abroad for 2 years (where I did GCSEs) and now back in the UK doing A levels. I won't have the 3 years residence by the time I would start a degree and I cant find any info on which universities are likely to take a sensible approach to this. Can I ask which unis offered you home fees please?
My sister was abroad for 11 years came back and did an access course and was qualified for the Home fees and student finance

Your fee status will depend on the reasons you were abroad and the evidence you can provide about it.
