Dental hygiene Teesside University

Has anyone got any rejections from Teesside Uni (Dental Hygiene) yet? Had my interview on the 11.01. and no reply yet so I guess it will be a rejection?

At my interview they said if I am unsuccessful I will hear from them very soon.... a girl from my class had her interview there too 1 day before me and she received an offer 2 weeks later, so I m bit worried now.... not sure if it is worth to contact them or give it more time...Im extra anxious as got 2 rejections, 1 on hold and 1 no interview invite/reply yet so far ...:frown: what about you? any news?

Hi Lucy, theres nothing to worry about. I am turning 28 and studying an access course currently hoping to progress to DHT, there are people in my class that are 30-40+, we have at different stages in our life. best of luck

Yes i am currently studying Health Science as an Access course as well! I do wish to become a DHT too, Teeside is my backup university but I am desperate and will take anywhere that has me! Good luck to you 🙂

Thank you I did get an offer for teesside 2025, from last year. But I ended up rejecting the offer, due to its location, and I've heard not so positive things about Middlesborough, eg. safety, and length of my travel back home during holidays etc, and 3 yrs for DH for me seems a bit overkill. But I will try my luck again for other universities this year.

Just give more time and they will let you know if it takes more than a week contact them .Sometimes Uni takes longer to respond but that doesn’t mean you won’t get in .I had my interview last year and got the response late So don’t worry

Oh fair enough! What other universities have you applied to this year? I did Essex, Southbank, Bristol and Portsmouth and obviously Teeside. Teeside is super far and it is my backup option tbh

Hey!

Have you applied for dental hygiene, or are you looking to apply? 😀

Every university is different in how they interview applicants, but most will want to know your understanding of the course, the types of things you study and where it leads, so have a look through the modules on the websites you are applying to and think about your future aims and aspirations.

At Teesside we ask our applicants some scenario based questions. These questions aren't linked to the course but to get an idea of the type of person you are and how you would deal with that situation - they are normally looking for you to give examples of being caring, compassionate and being able to communicate with people. Think about the
type of skills and experience you have, and how you might be able to answer those types of questions, so what you would do, followed by an example of a time you showed those traits.

Having a re-read of your personal statement to familiarise yourself with what you included is always a good idea too.
Just remember, the interviewers are interested in you and want you to do well, so give them as much information as you can to help them make their decision.

Good luck!
G ☺️

I had an interview a week ago there and they said they are interviewing until end of march. They said that if it was a reject you would here soon and offers will be given end of march, but I’ve seen people with offers and some with successful interviews but rejected. I think no news is good news x
