The Student Room Group
If possible, the best option would be to go to both in person and experience both places first hand, at an open day for example. However, I know that this might not be possible, so another option would be reaching out to current students at the Unis on the course you are interested in. Also, I've attached some websites with student statistics on course satisfaction, employment after the degree etc. Hopefully this helps!

Hi Guys,

Im stuck between choosing either ARU or CCCU for Psychology.

Any advice on which is the better uni would be appreciated. From what the tables indicate, it would seem ARU is the marginally better choice but I’ve heard it’s not that great.

Thanks.

Hi,

It might help your make your decision by attending open days of both universities to see which one you feel you prefer! Here are a few reasons we believe it may be helpful to attend an open day:

1) Get a Sense of the Campus: Attending Open Days gives you the opportunity to visit the campus and see the facilities and resources that the universities have to offer. You can see the classrooms, labs, libraries, sports facilities, and more.

2) Meet Current Students and Staff: Open Days give you the opportunity to meet current students and staff members, who can answer your questions and provide you with insights into what life is like at the university. You can learn about their experiences, opinions, and suggestions.

3) Attend Program-Specific Sessions: Universities often hold program-specific sessions during Open Days, where you can learn more about the curriculum, teaching methods, research opportunities, and career prospects. You can meet with faculty members and ask questions about the program requirements, expectations, and outcomes.

Overall, attending Open Days is an excellent way to get a feel for the universities and their programs. We suggest that you attend the Open Days of both universities to compare and contrast them and see which one is the best fit for you.

You are able to see our upcoming open days and events on the following webpage:

We wish you all the best in making your decision, and if you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help.

Hiya,

We do understand choosing a University can be a tricky decision!

As mentioned, you can reach out and chat with our current students that are studying at our Cambridge campus, or more specifically, chat with Lily who is in her first year studying Psychology 😊 Or, you can chat with our staff members who are currently teaching Psychology to gain another perspective.

We do have an Open Day coming up on the 25 March, and then again on the 10 June if that is an option for you. If not, you can always check out our ARU On Demand platform full of course talks, virtual tours and information from our support teams.

Have you read ARU blogs? More specifically, we have ARU blogs from our students. There’s lots of articles including At my leisure in Cambridge , Top resources for studying Psychology & Criminology, Old world charm: why I love living in Cambridge and Cambridge is awesome: seven reasons why - all written from former/current students with us 😊

We have teams of people that can help if you have any other questions or queries don’t hesitate to get in contact!
