Politics at Surrey or Bath

What are people's thoughts? Need to firm one over the other.
Is Surrey more likely to go to clearing if put Bath as firm and change mind and want Surrey after results?
Bath has higher entry requirements than Surrey. Like both courses. Bath is a bigger department and liked cosy feel of Surrey department.
Decisions, decisions 🤔
Hi there!

I'm a current student at Surrey and have absolutely loved my almost 4 years studying here. Although the main reason for why I chose Surrey was the course as it really suited me, after visiting on an offer holder day, I absolutely fell in love with the campus. For me, it's the perfect mix between being close to a city centre so plenty of restaurants, bars, pubs, cinema, gym, theatre, ice skating, etc, but it's also got an element of nature and countryside with the beautiful campus lake and the deer around campus in the mornings. It's also so close to London (30 minutes by train) so super convenient at the weekends. Surrey is so welcoming too, especially as its a campus university so the community spirit feels really strong and you can't walk around campus without bumping into at least someone you know.

I know that you are looking at the Politics course, and although I don't study politics myself, I can guarantee that you'll have a brilliant experience studying here. The Politics department are famous at Surrey for being outgoing, welcoming and generally a good bunch of people who love to have a laugh and a joke. The department often hold events for both their students and the whole university from guest speaker events to bar crawls! The lecturers and professors are also top of their field and all continue to work within the sector outside of the university, which is so cool in itself!

I hope this has helped make the best decision for you! We hope to see you at Surrey in September

Best wishes,

Thank you Alice.
Surrey had a good feeling about it and the politics department seemed to have an innovative teaching approach.

It was my son and he chose Bath. However, my feeling is he did it because he liked Bath City itself. Surrey really did have a vibrant feel for politics with approachable staff and a more hands on feel. If I was 18 again I would have chosen it! My son starts Bath this September.
