Ok...There seems to be a lot of threads around about Valentine's Day, so I thought, who's looking forward to Pancake Day??? It's a week tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it, even though as I don't have a hob I won't be able to cook any pancakes I'll have to see if I can get hold of some toastable ones...

Pancakes with lemon juice and sugar are the best!!!

It isn't just a 'stupid holiday'. It has a long and venerable history stretching back over a millennium.

I like pancake day. It's better than Valentines Day - that's about marketing cutesy gifts, whereas Shrove Tuesday is all about pancakes.

Exactly! Though it's also about preparing yourself for Lent...

Yeah, but I'm not Catholic anymore. So now it's all about pancakes.

I'm not Catholic either... but I like to keep up traditional customs, particularly when they involve eating lovely puddings!

Fine. It's a stupid holiday, with a venerable history stretching back over a millennium.

Toastable pancakes? Isnt that cheating a bit? Surely half the fun is peeling them off the ceiling.
