Wouldn't that count as animal cruelty? I think that's the problem. My parents don't think I/we could take proper care of a puppy, because no one's at home during the day
start off small.....like a hamster. Anyway My parents have a dog and they are gone from 9-5. My brother comes home at lunch time to play with her for 10 minutes. She does get the run of the house though

start off small.....like a hamster. Anyway My parents have a dog and they are gone from 9-5. My brother comes home at lunch time to play with her for 10 minutes. She does get the run of the house though
Our next door neighbours bought a puppy and all it did was yelp and cry and whine the whole time they were out . It was really sad. We complained to her because it just would not shut up and it was so loud and we gave suggestions about leaving music on or buying a cuddly toy but the poor puppy was so unhappy. One day she happily announced "got rid of it" like we'd be pleased or something!

Anyway, she got a bloody enormous rabbit to replace it (it's about as big as a medium sized dog) and it's locked up in its hutch all day in a small (about 5m square) concrete yard. It escaped into our back garden one day and it looked so happy frolicking around and eating our plants.

Why are some people incapable of looking after animals properly?

I had a hamster. It was crap (fortunately it was actually my sister's school's hamster, and we were only looking after it for a few days ). My mum's got this thing about when she was younger, her dog used to get left alone all day, then everyone would get home at the end of the day to find him/her (I can't remember which ) pining for them . Which means I can't have a dog :|

I wouldn't... I blame the (very unfortunate) death of my hamster for the fact that I'm not allowed to have a dog...
