I GOT THAT YAY. It was in-between the two and I was like hmm I'm just gonna do the middle value. So glad I did

I kinda forgot what estuaries were but I said the same thing just less technical.

There are flat banks
Marsh-like land has formed

Pretty sure I lost all the marks on both ribbon lakes and estuaries, I had no idea what they were.
For ribbon lakes I said they are 1) flat, wide and shallow 2) contains little water flow (stagnant). For estuaries I said they are 1) shallow 2) contains marsh land to the side of it

I hated the question and know I lost marks of the big questions
The 1 markers were nice
I don't know how aqa expects us to write so much especially after another exam

I know it sucks. The timing isn't great but it's over now my friend and we just have to get through the rest of them.

lmao technically ur not wrong, although I’m pretty sure conflict is on spec for glaciers only aha

no way i dont even do galciers lolll. The thing is because its real life situation if the point you make is something that could actually happen they kind of have to give marks

How did people find it?

You know to be honest it was really easy but i'm kinda annoyed about the question where it told us to describe the tectonic plate because we couldn't even fit a cast study to get the top marks

(Original post by jkub.71)For some reason I really struggled with time (wasn't the only one either in my school).

First mistake was leaving the bigger questions till last. Second was not remembering which questions I had to go back to. I flip a page to a completely empty 9 marker for deserts only to look up to see that I have 5 mins left. *panic*. Fastest nine marker of my life. My hand was in severe pain.

All in all however, a pretty decent paper. I think I answered every question lmao.

me too oh my gosh, I scrambled to finish the last question on glaciers and that was 6 marks. probably not going to get more than 3 or 4 but I'm glad it wasn't a 9-mark question (sorry that you had a 9 marker).

If you struggle with time the only advice I can give is practice. I'm quite a slow writer and when I do past papers at home I usually always run out of time. Today was good tho I got through everything with about 8 minutes to look over my stuff and make changes. Just be strict with yourself when doing past papers and always keep an eye on the clock in the exam. Good luck everyone for paper 2

I referred to san Andrea’s fault and Iceland if that helps not really a case study but ig it’s like my own knowledge idk

Hi guys, for 1 of the 1 markers I shaded in the answer I thought was correct. After reconsidering my answer, I scribbled out the box containing my old answer and shaded in the new box. Will I be penalised for this? Thank you for answering:smile:

I did the glacier 6marker right at the beginning cos the night before I was too busy revising chemistry so I had to revise the glaciers topic right before the exam and I didn’t want to forget the info lol. I mentioned quarrying: hard resistant rock for stone in construction industry and roads, limestone for conditioning soils and cement, gravel for concrete, sand for cement, meaning less money has to be spent importing materials from external sources, saving money. However, quarrying polluted the land and rivers, and can ruin the scenery, deteriorating the preservation of the glaciated area. Tourism: largest economic activity in glaciated areas, provides jobs and many profits from visitors, boosting local economy. However, tourism could cause traffic congestion, causing air pollution. Increased house prices too and also soil erosion from vehicles and walking, ruining the conservation of glaciated areas. What did u put?

what did everyone write for the q in the coasts section: how do the 2 figures show erosion has happen and it was an extract for the os map and a picture of some stacks

I said the map showed beaches and that the stump in the pivture if it was a stump had been eroded down

yeah true after all that time of teachers telling us to prepare for a case study on the nine marker and then one didn't come up it was easy but it kinda threw me off at first

Brooo innit the source itself said nothing bad, I kinda waffled icl. I said hard engineering technique channel straightening may protect valuable areas by increasing water flow, but all it does is increase flood risk further downstream. I said dams / reservoirs often destroy wildlife and habitat, disrupting ecosystems. For reservoirs to be constructed farmland on floodplains may be flooded, killing livestock and damaging wildlife. Floodplain zoning ensures high value land kept away from rivers, but floodplain zoning may mean that no flood defences can be set up, which means higher risk of floods. Again I kinda waffled

i talked about how floodplain zoning may cause conflict over land use and isn't useful in already urbanized areas idk
