anyone else hated that 6 marker for rivers? What are you even supposed to write about - I think the figure and the question mismatched.

What was the producer and consumer relationship in a ecosystem answer? I waffled about Epping Forest but don't know if that's right

You had to name a real place? I just said a small pond with algae and fish.

I did the glacier 6marker right at the beginning cos the night before I was too busy revising chemistry so I had to revise the glaciers topic right before the exam and I didn’t want to forget the info lol. I mentioned quarrying: hard resistant rock for stone in construction industry and roads, limestone for conditioning soils and cement, gravel for concrete, sand for cement, meaning less money has to be spent importing materials from external sources, saving money. However, quarrying polluted the land and rivers, and can ruin the scenery, deteriorating the preservation of the glaciated area. Tourism: largest economic activity in glaciated areas, provides jobs and many profits from visitors, boosting local economy. However, tourism could cause traffic congestion, causing air pollution. Increased house prices too and also soil erosion from vehicles and walking, ruining the conservation of glaciated areas. What did u put?

i talked about the conflict with Toursim and that's about it really (I'm so screwed with this question but I'm relying on everything else to get me through to an 8 for the first paper. I don’t know I'm really annoyed at myself for not leaving enough time but things happen. i probably wouldn't be so upset about ti if i hadn't picked geography for a level lol

I talked about Oxford as my case study and stuff and how peoples homes would have to be destroyed and then causing conflict, prolonging the project. Then second paragraph, I talked about nature and habitats, climate change.

no theres not any case studies on formation of the volcano so when it said use ur own understanding they wanted u to explain the formation of a volcano and earthquake by relying on knowledge u knew not just from the picture.

i think i got like 8800 ish too idk if im right tho

also did we actually need to reference any like earthquake/volcano events for that one 9 marker???

when it said use ur own understanding they meant that u know what the names of each margin( like constructive and destructive) is and u arent just describing the picture, and also that u know the exact process of each margin. Theres no case studies for the formation of earthquakes so u dont need to write abt case studies

I mean 86% of us found it good or great so I guess they've got to have a harsh mark scheme to differentiate between grades. Let's be positive though what's done is done, their marking generously which is nice, so bring on paper 2 and 3

Guys, I had a question, if you don't write a conclusion for your 9 marker, how many marks do you lose. I think I did one just can't remember.

I said:

It's expensive. We could use that money to build hospitals (irrelevant but whatever)

While it will protect some areas it might cause more erosion in other areas

Even tho it creates new habitats it still destroys the original habitats

Idk tbh

Was that a question on Channel Straightening?

Hi do any of you remember like the questions and/ or answers to your exams because my school uses the tests from last year for our end of years. It would be a massive help if you remember.
