Can anyone tell me what I have to do to work out the answer to this question? Rep available for anyone that can answer it. Pic attached with the question and graph.

Mods can you please move this to the most appropriate place please? I have no idea which forum it should be in.

e = 2.71828183

y = e^x is the opposite of y=ln x ( a reflection in the line y = x)

e is just the opposite of ln (natural log) on your calculator....don't need to understand it/know the value to solve equations containing it :p:

Brilliant thank you so much everyone!

I gave the rep to Mdsalih as he/she responded first but if I could I would give it to all of you!

PQ - I asked what e is because I can't work out where the button is on my dodgy calculator hehe!

I really need to stop avoiding maths as it's only going to get worse lol!

Thanks again everyone!

if it's got pictures of cartoon characters/represents the numbers through pictures of fruit (1 apple, 2 apples etc)...then you need to get a new one:p:

Thats where it is roughly on a casio calculator... You need to press the shift button to get at it though.

Generally.. it tends to lie close to the ln or log button on a calculator.

You can also use google to do it for you.. by using e^x (where x = a number u type in)

i.e. Click Here

Technically not quite true - you've got to work out the bit that e is raised to first - ie substitute for x.

7.107 * (e^(0.0405*55))
= 7.107 * (e^2.2275)
= 7.107 * 9.276645452
= 65.92911923
= 66.
