that was the same with me. i thought maybe it was just me finding it hard but i’m glad loads of other people agree. i might ask my physics teacher to go through it next time i’m in school, if i do i’ll let you know the answers

Cheers, I appreciate it and I'll probably do the same when study leave is over. Going through the paper again and tallying up marks sort of helped it showed the worst case scenario and then the more likely scenario which involves marks for working and follow through marks, especially on that half life question it threw me off so much. I think eventually a teacher will post solutions like they've done for maths and chemistry on YouTube so I'll definitely check and see. Ideally it'll be something like 65/100 for an A or if it's lower like 62 or 61 for an A that's superb

yeah that’s what i did too, it’s not looking too bad so far but i was a little generous with some of the marks, so i’m not sure. i might also ask my dad cause he’s good at physics, but in any case i’ll keep you posted

Hopefully it'll be all good, it reassures me that physics isn't as subjective/opinionated as English or business or history where you have to word your answers in specific ways, and everything is anonymous and it's by the SQA not teachers in school because some take marks off for no reason whatsoever.

Good luck in any exams you might have left as well I've got computing on the 25th then that's it for me, hopefully someone gets the papers for other subjects especially business for me so it can provide some assurance.

good luck to you too, i’ve got computing and art now and then that’s me done, hope computing goes well for both of us

Thanks it hopefully should be fine, the 8 day gap between physics and computing helps a lot for me and the exam is the shortest one and they made the course much more easier, hopefully the assignment went well tho because I want to do well in that so the question paper isn't the difference between an A or no A

yeah hopefully the assignment went well, how did you find it? my teacher said it was really difficult, and most people in my class ran out of time. i thought it went quite well though, i thought the database was good

Ahh my school only offers web design and development so can't really comment on the database section. The assignment was interesting idk how hard or easy it was compared to previous assignments if they have grade boundaries for it but the software section was alright, my program works completely as intended in python but I'm worried if the SQA will mark me down/flag stuff up as "cheating" because I used things in my code outwith the course. The web design part went well-ish for me I think I got the marks for implementation...

Hoping for around at least 30/40 or 35/40 ideally so i can afford to lose marks on the question paper next Thursday. Also because you need marks in it to get an A no matter how well you do in the question paper 😂

The half life question in the physics paper was the same as the 2 mark half-life questions that we do in chemistry (although we usually do them without graphs), I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to put it in the physics exam.

I managed to mess up both half life questions in physics and chemistry 💀💀💀 but for physics they definitely allow follow through so I could get 2/2. For chemistry they asked how much had decayed and asked as a fraction but for some reason I got 93.75/100 instead of 15/16, would they give me any marks for working? It was 3 marks and I was very annoyed afterwards it was a stupid mistake
Oh I put it as a percentage... Oh no, I should have been more careful.

same, my program works fine but I feel like I maybe wrote the wrong things for the evaluation parts. but I think I got at least 30 which is good, since I’m not sure how confident I am for next weeks paper 😬

I am really worried about chemistry as people seem to think it was easy, so the grade boundaries are probably going to be very high. I already know I have made a few mistakes [with the redox equation in paper 1, messing valuable information out of the nitrogen open ended question] and now this, putting it as a percentage instead of a fraction. I am doomed and I don't know if grade boundaries will go back to pre covid levels but since people left the exam hall early I think they are going to be ridiculously high. .

Hopefully it should be fine, and computing isn't that bad anyways many people joke about how GCSE computing can be finished in under 30 minutes and the exam is 1 and a half hours long. If you do well in the assignment you only really need about 50-55 marks for an A at least, and boundaries might be lowered this year hopefully

oh i didn’t know that, that sounds good then. hopefully they’ll be lowered

Good luck anyways for computing and art, hopefully it'll be a good paper on the 25th, and I'll definitely update here if I find the solutions for the physics papers

What's good everyone, I found a YouTube video uploaded 2 days ago with the first few questions solutions. Not the entire paper but still something

https://youtu.be/KC0h2UCnFIU

Only solutions I can find online so far, same channel also did the higher physics answers as their paper also was on the mrsphysics website. Literally the first 5 questions of the multiple choice but I thought I got 3,4 and 5 wrong so it's a bit of reassurance at least. Will update when there's more solutions

Thanks, I really appreciate it! I only got one wrong so far.

Np man, looking at the paper I knew I got questions 3, 4 and 5 wrong but turns out I got Q4 right which is nice at least 😂

It's a slow release of answers though from that channel, for the higher paper they also released the answers in sets of 5 for the multiple choice paper. Hopefully by next week the answers for the multiple choice questions will be out soon
