Anyone else feeling super nervous/excited about finding out whether they made it onto YDS?

Received another email asking if unsuccessful would there be interest in other policy roles with MOJ

Originally they said they'll make a selection based on merit order, follow up email seems to say they'll also take CV/location into consideration

I know, it seems a bit dodgy to be mentioning that now. I want to think/hope that "taking location into consideration", they mean that you must have ticked the box to say you're willing to be based in Leeds. Otherwise, it seems the opposite of fair and open recruitment to be picking and choosing who gets accepted based on where you are currently living.

Also annoying that now they mention CVs. When CV's were originally requested I thought it was for right to work checks, and wouldn't impact what you were offered as it would all be done on merit order of FSAC scores, so I didn't tailor mine from the last time I used it. So for them to now suggest that they will be used to allocate places once it's too late to change it is frustrating. If I'm being charitable, then maybe what they mean is that who gets on the YDS is based on merit order, and the nature of the role you get if accepted might be chosen to compliment your CV.

I'd really like to get on YDS (although nervous about relocating), but I think my FSAC score (9.64) puts me near the bottom of the pecking order, so based on how many people turned up to the presentation and how great the scheme is, I think all the places will be filled before they get to me.

Do you mind me asking, what was your FSAC score?

I also received an offer for the YDS today

Congratulations! May I ask what your FSAC score was? /location preferences
Ahhh well done!!! Massive congrats!

Feeling slightly disheartened, scored 12.37 but no offer. Indicated I'd be willing to commit to relocating to Leeds.

But perhaps not meant to be :frown:

Still waiting :frown: doesn't seem to be in merit order, bit frustrating as we were originally told it would be if prepared to commit to Leeds

Agreed. If I had a higher score I would be asking them for more info about what criteria is being used to allocate places and why they have not been open about it. As it is, I don't really think I stand a chance so probably won't bother.

Has anyone received an offer on the DAS for EO level? sent my EOI over a month ago and haven’t heard anything yet

I sent mine 23rd June and DAS contacted me on Monday saying Welsh Gov are interested.

I don’t know if that counts as an offer? 😅

Does anyone know, after DAS contact you saying a department is interested, how long does it take for pre-employment checking team to get in touch for EO positions?

congratulations! what were your preferred locations and fsac score if you don’t mind me asking?

Thank you! My locations were basically Mid Wales, as that is where I’m based and relocating isnt an option for me.

I never made note of my fsac score because I was so upset with it haha, but I think it was around 8.5.
